Every so often, Shunsui was able to actually get a little bit ahead of Apu when it came to his funny little random holidays, but usually just when it gave him an occasion to be obnoxious with the poor man, and today was certainly one of those days.

"Apuuu~saaan~ ♥!" he sang out as he eventually breezed into the store that morning afternoon, "you do know what day it is, don't you ♥?"

By the groan and the roll of his eyes and the general disposition of regret around building his entire personality around these very specialized holidays, he did. In fact, Apu knew enough about what day it was that he could also sigh and gesture toward the table he'd already set up with a few copies of Shunsui's books on it with a little sign that said "Support Local Authors! It's Take Your Poet to Work Day!"

And even though Apu had made the point that, if he was 'taking' his poet-boss to work that day in celebration, then maybe his poet-boss could actually do some work around the store for a change, to which Shunsui just chuckled a little and said, "But of course, Apu-san ♥! I will happily get to work on composing several poems dedicated to your hardworking and diligent self ♥."

When Summer came into Caritas that evening, Tino was leaning over the bar with a book of poems that he was reading through and the zombies seemed to be having a light, good-natured argument about whether or not song writers counted as poets and which ones were the best. She assumed. They were zombies, they didn't usually form a lot of coherent sentences.

She wasn't entirely sure what had made everyone feel apparently so poetic this evening, but honestly? It made for a really chill vibe when she came in, and she was all about that.

Until Tino decided to share with her some of the poems, and she realized that, despite the fancy leatherbound cover on the book in his hands, it was not, in fact, filled with some nice classical poetry through the ages or some of the heavy hitters, like your Shakespeare sonnets or your Tennyson or Eliot or Shelley.

Nope. They were all just corny, cheesy, often crass and raunchy limericks. Why was she not surprised?

Could be worse, though.

He could have been reading Shunsui's book.

The mood back on the Rouge continued to be messy at best. Also, Octavia's new tattoo had firmly entered the 'annoyingly itchy' phase.

The soundtrack of the club tonight was decidedly on the heavier side - currently to the tune of Alice in Chains - and Tiny was giving Octavia a fairly wide berth.

These things were all connected.
