Very ironically, she felt, Summer was spending her labor day working. A lot. She'd actually delegated this week's ordering and inventory to Apu, after realzing that he would hear no such things about taking the day off himself for Labor Day, and Summer was so, so tempted to point out that it was pretty ironic, too, that here he was so big on celebrating holidays, but, for some reason, when it came to that one....

No, he was much more interested in celebrating Mouthguard Day, apparently, so, hey, if anyone was on the hunt for a good deal on mouthguards, boy, did T&C have you covered!

But either way, she'd delegated her usual Monday tasks that week because now that she was the owner again, she figured she would really make it her own, which meant having to clear out thousands upon thousands of pillows and blankets and empty sake bottles out of the back office and clean up the place before giving it her own personal treatment. Nice thing about working in a store that sold (almost) everything was that she didn't have to go far to grab something when she needed it, either, and she was in and out of the office throughout the day in case anyone needed help or just stopped by to see her.

And, of course, there was the Extra 25% Off For New Students and/or Teachers! sign up on the window, one that she didn't even have to be worried about being altered later this week with misogynistic bullcrap, right underneath the much larger, sparkly, and very pink sign that read "Now OFFICIALLY Under New Management!" and right above the sign that simply stated "Now Hiring".

They were almost always hiring, sure, but sometimes, you just needed to remind people of that fact.

Prompto was honestly planning on having a nice, chill day down at the Photo Hut that Monday, where he was sort of planning a whole bunch of autumnal shots to really snag up some of that fall aesthetic for his stock portfolios and also working on fine tuning some of his lesson plans for the semester, but then he got caught up dealing with quite possible the most annoying potential client in the entire world, who kept trying to talk him down on price.

By a lot.

"Dude," he finally said, "the only kind of exposure I'm interested in involves the amount of light reaching my camera sensor. I don't care how big on Instagram your event is going to be. The rates are non-negotiable."

Then he argued that those rates were ridiculous, and Prompto offered to send him a chart comparing his rates to other local photographers that showed that they were actually incredibly competitive.

"Competitive for what? All you do is push a button."

And you know what? Prompto was going to push a button right now, in fact, the one on his phone that hung up the call.

No respect for the art! None!

The case Rosa was working on last week resolved itself pretty quickly, and so she was back to generally ignoring most of her emails because half of them were just stupid, and, instead, was doing something much more productive.

Sitting there, drinking her coffee, and watching her dog run around in circles trying to catch her own tail in front of her desk because, knowing she was going to be lazy about her emails, she brought Anna Pavlova for entertainment and that dog did not disappoint.

She also had a pair of shoes on standby in case the tail-chasing got old, but she did not see that happening any time soon.

Monday: Covent Garden Flowers

Nell had not in any way, shape, or form been expecting the influx of wildlife today. Apparently it was National Wildlife Day and a large number of squirrels, raccoons, birds - and two teal deer- had stopped in to get a single flower for someone special. Thankfully one of the raccoons had explained this to her or she would have been kept even more woefully off balance today.

This was somewhat offset by one of the squirrels bringing in a box of pastries because it was also apparently National Eat A Second Dessert Day and he thoughtfully wanted to make sure she was able to do so.

In other words, just a normal day in Fandom.

It was a new semester and summer (but not Summer) had officially gone, though it seemed that it'd forgotten to take the weather with it. Apparently the store had decided to make up for that lack of change, though, because Vi was finding piles of leaf-shaped meeples scattered all over the floor.

Though these at least were easier for Little Bot to tidy up than the silicone dice, which were still being 'helpfully' pursued by Saffron.
