Gearing up for a pretty quiet week around town (not so much at home, with his little mover and shaker of a child on the cusp of discovering the wonders of mobility), Prompto made the mistake of idly hopping onto the computer to look up a few things about New Zealand. And then made the bigger mistake of texting Gladio about where they were saying, which then lead to wistfully falling down a vacation-dreaming rabbit hole that ultimately led to him researching when it was okay to leave babies with trusted friends and family for, say, a long weekend or something without causing more irreparable damage to their psyche than they were already receiving just due to the fact that you were one of their parents.

...what?

Anyway, the Photo Hut is open!

It took Duke an embarrassingly long time to realize why the town seemed so quiet today. In his defense, it'd been a long time since he'd last taught a class and thus paid attention to things like the school vacations.

He wasn't complaining. The quiet suited him right now. It helped him keep what was so far a good day for him going. Which was why he was currently sprawled back on his hands on the sand to watch the waves rather than standing pensively.

He didn't even mind that the bottle at his side was full of birch beer and not something alcoholic. Progress!

Sometimes a girl just needed some pampering. For Liliana, that 'sometimes' was 'as often as possible.' With her house invaded by construction yet again and allowing herself some sulking time because she was missing the trip (yes, the trip, just the trip, anyway), today definitely hit the criteria for 'as often as possible.' Which was why she was flat on her stomach, hot stones on her back (the masseuse had been distressed by her body temperature), nail technicians working on either hand while a third rubbed her feet.

After that, she was going to spend some time in the sauna and then there was a salt scrub and a mud bath...or maybe it was a mud bath and then a salt scrub? She couldn't remember - there was a 'spa concierge' who had made her schedule and Liliana was content to be gently shepherded along from one relaxing activity to the next.

You know, if she didn't think Olivia would end up snacking on half the staff, she would almost be tempted to reach out to her old friend and invite her to the island.

A member of staff came in and murmured to Liliana today's luncheon options: a rich seafood paella and an harvest vegetable quiche. "Mmmm, the quiche," Liliana said lazily. "I find my seafood paella standards have risen precipitously and there's only one that can reach them. But I'll absolutely take two pieces of the buttercake and one of the fruit tarts, thank you darling."

She had paid for this figure with her literal soul and goddamn if she wasn't going to make the most of it.
