Most of the chaos of last week's ill fated foray into creative interior design themed around furniture with clawed (or otherwise animal like) feet had been cleaned up by Friday, although the antique bathtub remained near the door, because for now, Harley considered it good enough that it was no longer actively blocking entry into the store.

Of course, Bruce the hyena was currently hanging out in the tub, ready to startle people coming in with his mere presence. He was just chilling, it was fine!

Harley herself could be found behind the counter, sorting through a box of loot from her little Baltimore trip. There was some good stuff! Both to keep and to sell!

"Oo, Bruce, we got another cool switchblade!"

That was going in the keep pile for sure.

Rey's warehouse- Friday afternoon

Last week a boulder had gone through the roof of the warehouse, which meant training was now roofing. Did Anakin or Rey know how to roof? No. Were they going to call someone? Absolutely not, shut up, Rey had grown up figuring stuff like this out.

There was a tarp ready in case of weather but Rey had taken it down in order to climb up and attach sheet metal to a ceiling. As you do. Totally normal activity for a Friday.

Watts had not gotten a great sleep last night, and was still feeling a little under the weather this morning. Not bad enough to not show up, but it was definitely a ‘nap under the desk’ sort of day.

You know, Prompto and Apu definitely had their differences, but, every once in a while, everything aligned in a way that gave them a day to celebrate that made things seem maybe not so bad after all. Because today, apparently, was Garden Meditation Day, and Apu had taken it to mean that the front of the store was going to be awash with every plant (fake and real!) they had, he'd hooked up a few of those desktop fountains, put some calming music over the speakers, and put down some yoga mats and comfy cushions to make the space just inside the store incredibly chill and calming, and they were all just going to hang out between customers to get their meditation on.

Well, Prompto tried to, anyway, but he did not have the attention span for it, and his mind just kept wandering and getting antsy about whether or not Summer would disapprove of nothing else getting done in the store that day, or what he was going to do for Liliana's driving lessons, or, speaking of lessons, did he have everything he'd need for his next class? And speaking Liliana, he should remember to delete that Batnis picture from his phone, and speaking of Ignis, he had to ask about how he was making that noodle dish that Noctra really liked because when he made it, she refused to eat it, and speaking o Noctra, he...

....yeah, no, meditation was not going to work for Prompto, so he was going to get up and get back to work, but he definitely appreciated the chill vibes that were going to accompany his work that day.

So. X-Factor had ended without so much as a bang (unless you counted what Danger and Warlock got up to). Pietro had left, and everyone else had sort of . . . vaguely wandered off after him.

And, anyway, the life of a corporate stooge wasn't really Remy's style anyway.

But now here he was, unemployed again, between hero gigs, and at total loose ends. Wandering his way slowly up the east coast, trying to decide if it was worth the teasing he'd inevitably get if he crawled back to the Institute and the X-Men.

So yeah, wandering around Baltimore was a decent way to waste a day. And exploring the odd little town he was reasonably certain didn't appear on any maps of the area? Maybe that would land him in some interesting trouble, at least.

It probably wouldn't be the worst thing he'd done. Though that was a very high bar.

The Magpie Emporium; Friday [05/03].

There was a good chance that this would be the last shift Graham would work at the Maaaaaaagpie Empoooor~rium, and so today was a little bittersweet for him. He definitely wanted to make sure he picked out one last set of dice to take with him, looking for something really shiny and knight-like, and then just spent a lot of time sighing wistfully at everything, and also wondering if knights played a lot of board games or TTRPGs. Maybe, if he did get a spot on the court, he could start up a game, just like he had with some of his fellow students here? That would be a lot of fun, and could also promote creative thinking and good practices for when they went on actual adventures!

Grinning faintly to himself with a proud, convinced nod, he was just going to have to make sure he picked up everything he needed to do just that, just in case, although he liked to think that he'd still be able to make it back to Fandom every once in a while to visit and check in....and probably get even more dice.

He thought he'd mostly be feeling nervous and anxious about the tournament next week, as they started getting close to it, but now, he was sort of just feeling a little melancholy about leaving this place behind....

Midnight Manor Boarding House, Friday evening

Marc's phone rang once he got past the front door and you never knew when it was one of the residents who might have an emergency, so he answered even though he didn't recognize the number.

It was not one of the residents.

Or at least not yet.

Instead Marc found himself on the end of a phone conversation with somebody's mom which resulted in him 1) kind of regretting he'd insisted that it'd be him that handled this stuff instead of Watts or Steven and 2) saying "Yes, ma'am" a lot and not much else.

Well that and a "My name's not Marcus" right at the end but that one went to dead air.

Right. Incoming resident then. Marc headed into his office to put the kid's name down for the last available room on the first floor.

Outside the fancy new chalkboard sported a sign which said Rooms For Rent. Ask within. Office is to your right. Don't mind Marc, he's always like that.

Well, nothing was trying to kill Mariner, so that was one mark in favour of this current shift...and week.

On the other hand, nothing was trying to kill her, so she was getting kinda bored.
