Ignis had been terribly distracted these last few weeks, with several things that seemed to just keep stacking on top of each other, so he came into the diner that morning with the determination to stay focused on the kitchen, on crafting his specials, drinking a lot of coffee, and trying to be more present and less in his own head.

It took maybe five minutes of asking how Greg's weekend went to make him start to think that perhaps being stuck in his own head all the time wasn't actually such a bad thing. He was trying, though! And at least there was coffee.

Atlas Gym; Tuesday [07/30].

To say that Gladio was on the fence about whether to tackle the hot tub project himself or to hire a professional to do it was a little inaccurate; he was definitely strongly on one side, but he wanted to do plenty of research before deciding which side to stay on. Which is why, outside his usual rounds that would put him out and about during the peak times people came in so he could at least say hello, he was in the office doing some research and on the phone with the guys who did the maintenance and parts for the pool.

And, honestly? It kept him out of the whole debate and discussion the staff was having about the Olympics. But don't worry. If you were into that thing, they were almost all more than happy to get you on board with the discussion and get your input for the actual board they were using in the lobby to keep track of the proceedings and events.

The Photo Hut; Tuesday [07/30].

Things were pretty quiet and chill and typical at the Photo Hut that Tuesday. Prompto started with a little cleaning and dusting the shelves and organizing things before taking care of some old stock and some new stock. He checked some emails, and then spent a little bit of time working on one of his monster-megaparts-camera conglomerations, and then checked some more emails.

And then spent way too much time trying to figure out if this email he got was referring to photography or guns, and he was having a small revelation that he should have probably had much sooner in his life (and maybe he had already had it, but then forgot he had??) about the similarities between the two.

And then he spent way too much time trying to think if there was a good way to combine these dual loves of shooting....

Well, he didn't really love shooting a gun, but he did love the guns themselves. Guns were just neat, but he was definitely happier when not using one!

Blackstone Foundry and Forge; Tuesday [07/30].

Apparently, Amaya was going into a little bit of a fancy hilt phase these days, because she was on another one again, and you know what? That was perfectly fine by her. Her plan was to ride it out, see how many fancy hilts she could manage to hammer out, and then worry about matching them to blades later.

The real question then would be whether or not she wanted to keep the blades relatively simple or straightforward, or just go completely nuts with them and make them ridiculous so that the fanciness of the hilts was basically overshadowed by the rest of the sword.

Probably a little bit of each, honestly.

The chair was nowhere in sight today but that didn’t make Dean any less wary.

Even with the constant flinching at every single sound, Dean was still able to find a case out in Iowa that could be a hunt.

So, fity-eight years ago today the nunber one song was Wild Thing by The Troggs. Eighteen years ago a certain soon-to-be-Wild Gale girl was born. Coincidence? (Or a deliberate choice by the Mun just this morning when she saw the factoid in an email?)

The world may never know.

But today Wild Thing would be playing regularly at the store as Charlie barely even pretended to work as she fielded phone calls from Aunties, Allie, and her mother - who wanted to complain about Charlie's twin sisters. They texted.

Tuesday: Plant Parenthood

Nell was in a particularly good mood today for whatever reason and the plants definitely responded to it. She had made up some additional scented lotions and was working on some new teas in the back, but the bell ( and Soulwood soil) would let her know if anyone came in.

The Junkyard, Tuesday Afternoon

Cal felt a little bad for skipping Earth Tourism, but he didn't want to skip out on work. Never mind that he was essentially his own boss and could easily delay things. He just needed a little extra alone time after meditation class.

Things quickly turned into some loud alone time as he sorted through bigger pieces of metal with more force than necessary, but it counted as a workout, and surely that was good for his mental health or something.
