"Guests?" Boc frowned as he looked up from the nice bit of knitting he was trying to not get too tangled as he worked his way through it, perched as he usually was on the counter, and listened to today's cashier explaining to him about the Parents Weekend up at school. Then he shook his head. "No, no. I should think not! Only parent I've ever known was me dear old mum, and she's left us now, so I suppose it would be quite the surprise if she did show up, though it would be..."

Oh, no, now he'd thought about it, and a little bit of a whimper escaped him as tears started to cling to his eyes, but he shook his head vehemently and dedicatedly returned to his knitting.

"Doesn't matter anyway!" he declared staunchly. "Only thing I've had to do with that school anyway is that one class you all signed me up for, which, might I remind you, had nothing to do with weaving at all! Let's not have anything more to talk about with guests, if you don't mind! Anyone likely to come and visit me, of all people, is likely no one you'd want visiting, anyway!"

Then Boc's attention shifted, slightly, as the music playing in the store seemed to strike a particularly dramatic note and he wondered if that should be something he should be worried about....

Outback Steakhouse, Thursday Evening

Lydia had been left entirely to her own devices to choose this week's restaurant for Supper Club, and ultimately had selected the "Outback Steakhouse." It had something to do with Australia, as she understood it, and she knew absolutely nothing about the food of that continent.

Honestly, all she knew was that it was where they sent criminals. But she was excited to learn, and she was sure some other people would be, as well! Welcome to Supper Club, everyone!

It wasn't that Stewart needed an excuse to start flinging up dark and spooky decorations all over the place; it did track somewhat with his general aesthetic and no one would exactly be surprised if he were to declare that every day was like All Hallow's Eve for him, but he had to admit that it was still nice to be able to lean so heavily into it after what was a truly manic spree the other day through the Spirit Halloween that popped up in the woods recently. And so today was going to be all about decorating the place and maybe doing some rearranging for some things that had been on his mind lately that he was still sort of waffling over, but, slowly and surely, he was inching his way toward.

Well, he'd get about half-way through decorating the place, before something happened and a minor injury that he made way too big a deal out of and anyone watching would think he was dying based on the reaction, put him in a sour mood and he was going to spend the rest of the day sulking in his chair while tending his grievous wound*.

*A string of cardboard bats now half-hanging off the ceiling had given him a papercut on the pad of his thumb. Even using his phone was practically torture now! TRAGIC.

Thor wasn't asking why the curtains seemed slightly different this week. It might have been his imagination, anyway. He mostly cared about the fact that he'd remembered the rules in time to arrive shirtless this week, and the shipment they'd received, which he'd sampled and deemed, "Not bad," before putting it on the board.

There was a new season of a certain animated adaptation of an actual play series out today, and while Steph had cancelled her Prime account in a fit of pique she had run into an awkward shy redheaded girl with fancy futuristic computer tech at the Perk earlier in the week. And, well, mega-nerds recognized mega-nerds, plus as it turned out the girl had Very Strong Feelings about billionaire CEOs on top of having an uncanny ability to find basically any film or TV show ever, so...

Well, the upshot of it all was that Steph had her laptop hooked up to a TV, free popcorn snack bags in a mimic treasure chest on the counter, and a marathon of the entire series running.

And she was just going to do a whole extra order of merchandise directly from the production company to assuage any guilt she had about it.

Adrian was refamiliarizing himself with the remaining stock in the store. Pam had clearly been going over everything with a fine-toothed comb and tossing out whatever didn't meet her standards for environmental-friendliness. He could only approve, continuing her work - though rather than tossing anything, he was making two separate piles for her to check over whenever she next came in: the ones he thought should be trashed, and the stuff he thought was worthy to be kept. Still, seemed only right that the final decision be hers.

Sabine was in the back, testing out crossbows today. She knew how to use one, but she hadn't really gotten to use one. So she put up some wooden targets in the gun range and went to town on them.

As it turned out, it was really therapeutic! Maybe the sound of the bolt hitting the target was really satisfying? Anyway, the "just yell" sign was up front if anyone needed her. Maybe she should get a bell or something.

Stark Industries - Thursday

The endless AC/DC marathon blasting through Stark Industries wasn’t bothering Yelena today. At least not after she invested in industrial-grade earplugs before showing up. Whatever was behind the music overload was now nicely blocked out, allowing her to focus on potential security issues for the upcoming open house and any visitors heading to the island.

Of course, if you actually needed Yelena’s attention, you'd probably have to get right in her face before she even noticed you were there.

The Photo Hut - Thursday

Liz was looking forward to the weekend and seeing Professor Broom and Hellboy so for that day she was trying to make sure all the paperwork that she had to do was done and that all the emails were answered so she didn’t have to answer any over the weekend and could focus on the visit.

For that morning she was working on finalising the September reports and setting up the spreadsheets for the month of October in between responding to any emails that came through.
