The store was, no surprise, all decked out in Halloween decorations, with a special display of black, orange, and purple dice up near the counter and the spookiest painted minis in the store's collection arranged around the edges of the counter. A mimic chest that's much bigger than the one in the link full of candy was up front next to the cardboard beholder standee (yes, she'd triple checked to make sure the mimic chest was really just a chest), and Saffron was... absolutely resisting any and all efforts Steph made to put a displacer beast costume on her.

There were also, thanks to a random shipment that had come in that Steph had definitely not ordered but the supplier wouldn't take it back, free dice sets for trick-or-treaters.

Steph had a carefully curated Halloween playlist going as she worked on a new adventure module for one of her groups of players, a fiendish expression of concentration on her face as she scribbled away in her notebook. Halloween was fun and all, but god, she wasn't going to be upset about October being over.

Thor was planning n stepping out early to make it to the party, but he was around early in the evening to make sure everything was set up and Tiny had things well in hand.

He was not commenting on Tiny's mode of dress, which seemed to frustrate him. Possibly that was why he was not commenting.

The staff at Luke's blinked at Duke. "What do you mean?" asked Ali from his spot at the stove.

"You're wearing each other's clothing." Duke tilted his head. "And . . . doing each other's jobs."

Ali exchanged a glance with Bobby at the dishwashing station. "Do you know what he means?"

"I hate all of you."

Greg came tumbling out of dry storage, tripping on a mop, and spilling turnips all over the floor. Duke just shook his head at him and headed for his office. "Prat falls are beneath you," he called over his shoulder.

"He's right," Ali said. "That was tacky."

"I think I sprained my ankle," said Greg.

"Why do these turnips have faces?" asked Bobby.

Even though Liz would definitely rather sort through the photos that she had taken on the trip, she also had quite a bit of work to catch up on for work and was behind on her financial report so her main focus was trying to finish the end of month report.

In addition to making sure that the report was finished, she was also finding that there were a lot of emails from last week so she was also trying to go through those, so her morning was proving to be rather busy.

Homecoming Carnival, The Park, Friday Daytime

Hopefully, no one had partied themselves out completely yesterday, because it was time for Homecoming! The park had been decorated... well, it had started to be decorated in a comfortable fall theme because something had to be done with all the extra pumpkins people had, but then the pillow fort showed up, and there was lofi music coming from somewhere and, well, it wasn't a bad vibe, so here we were.
