Steven was at work nice and early that morning. The walk over had been brisk, both in terms of temperature and how quickly he'd done it.

Once inside he made himself a nice hot cup of tea and settled down to going through the mail. There were various brochures about things that could be bought to enhance displays and the like. Steven didn't know if Blathers would be interested in them - the ones for insects were highly likely to be a no - but it couldn't hurt to at least skim and see if there was anything that stood out as having potential.

He was, of course, interruptible for any visitors.

Thor was pleased to see the ice bar had survived this week, even if Tiny remained considerably less pleased. Thor didn't know why. The climate was merely brisk, as far as he was concerned. Certainly nothing that would interfere with the observation of Shirtless Thursdays!

Yelena wasn't sure how the gremlins knew about her baking class or her assignment. She assumed their time in the air ducts had gotten them access to Steve and Tony's planning sessions.

And she also wasn't sure why the gremlins were so interested in helping her. "What is this?" she asked, unrolling the document in front of her. "Blueprints?"

The design was hideous: a towering gingerbread fortress with jagged cookie walls scorched as if they’d been burned in the oven.

At its peak, a massive, glowing candy eye sat encased in a ring of molten sugar, which was disturbingly detailed for a dessert. Spikes of charred candy canes jutted from every corner. Rivers of black licorice webbed outward from the base, winding through shattered peppermint and gingerbread rubble. The whole thing radiated a sense of sugary doom.

“Absolutely not. I’m baking a house—one normal house. No apocalyptic gingerbread towers, no evil gumdrop cores, and definitely no licorice rivers,” she said flatly. "Go back to making coffee. And where the hell is my Peppermint Mocha?"

The gremlins made several gestures that probably should be noted in an HR report and went back to work as Yelena regretted being coerced by a moose into taking a baking class.

Luke's, Thursday

"Hey boss, uh . . . you planning to work today?"

Duke looked up, blinking, at his dishwasher. "Nah," he said honestly.

"Can I make the specials, then?"

Duke nodded. "Go for it."

Ali hurried excitedly back to the kitchen and Duke went back to staring into space over a cup of coffee and day dreaming about the new pool at hte mansion.

You know what Sabine brought to work today? A normal coffee that tasted like exactly what she ordered.

That probably shouldn't be something to put you in a good mood to do your job today, but that's where things were now. The shop was open and the person in charge wasn't cranky.

Since it was getting close to the end of the month, Liz was spending the morning trying to get a head start on the end of the month reports so that there wouldn’t be a lot to do next week. So she was focusing on checking the spreadsheets and starting work on writing the reports and seeing what work she could get done.
