Steven came into the Museum more subdued than normal. Not that there was anything wrong with him per se. He'd had a lovely week so far. And in theory the last thing that had happened to him at the Museum was a nice and incredibly helpful conversation with Liliana (herself so nice and incredibly helpful.)

It was just, you know, before.

So Steven was there, barring time for Stark's class in the morning, doing his work behind the Welcome Desk, and being...

Cautious, was all. Aware.

One might even say twitchy.

He was fine, really.

Pixie Dust; Thursday [08/21].

There wasn't much going on at the store that day. No new shipments, everything was pretty neat and orderly, and so Luma was left wishing she'd brought with her a book or something. Thankfully, she now also had a phone, and so the majority of her shift was spent mindlessly scrolling through this and that, hoping to find entertainment or inspiration, but mostly just feeling like it was turning her brain to mush.

So she eventually just dropped her phone into a drawer to avoid the temptation and forced herself to go over to pick out a few new nail polishes and settled in to do her nails again. It was almost a ritual, at this point. And even though they weren't colors she would usually put together, she was oddly drawn to a combination of a pale pink (mauve, really), a pistachio green, and a dusky brown, which, oddly enough, left her kind of craving ice cream, and wondering if she should go get some after work and if she should go by herself or invite Eleanor to go with her.

The summery drinks continued to reign at the Devil's Nest, and Tiny was attempting construction of some sort of rampart out of coconuts to one side of the bar.

The Perk, Thursday Afternoon

The first call came right as Jack was halfway into a Henley (in which he got stuck for an embarrassing thirty seconds, by which time the phone had stopped ringing). The second came as he was digging around for his keycard at the hotel desk (and then dropped it in his effort to get to his phone). The third followed right in the middle of his conversation with the barista at the Perk about the exact amount of sugar to dump into his giant coffee, which was now more sugar than caffeine.

And the fourth, the one he actually managed to pick up in time? Came while he was walking to a table with said very big, very hot coffee in hand.

"Rand," he managed.

"Trent bought a van!"

He was silent for a moment.

"Dane," he said, enunciating very clearly, "This could have been a text."

"Sorry!"

He sank down into a seat and immediately spilled sugar-coffee on his shirt. Sigh.

The Photo Hut - Thursday

Liz was feeling a lot better after the last two weeks and had decided to try and do some inventory while she was feeling up to it before she sat down to work on the computer.

After she went through the store inventory and changed around some of the front display items, she sat down at the computer to do finish catching up on her spreadsheets, making note of the inventory and what new stock needed to be ordered. After that was spending the rest of the morning catching up on the admin work that she had missed over the last couple of weeks and that was keeping her pretty busy.
