Sarah walks down the street at night, hearing the noise of two different parties rise up from different parts of town. She'd give more of a damn that many of her underage students are probably off getting wasted, but they're definitely not paying her enough to give a shit. Besides, that's what that giant white ball floating around campus is for, that and Professor Jerusalem -- scaring the crap out of the student body.

Heading into the bar, she walks up and sits down at the nearest empty stool, thinking of open enrollment and a school full of hungover students tomorrow.

"Bartender," she says with a frown, "Tequila. The whole bottle. And keep them coming."

After a morning filled with hung-over kids of all ages and shapes, Smith starts training [livejournal.com profile] chloe_sullivan.

Someone walking near them would overhear her telling Chloe, "...and remember to keep an eye on the front counter at all times. It can start moving real fast and it's easy to not notice someone wanting to order something. Now, as for the service counter..."

On the marquee outside:

"MARCH OF THE PENGUINS" -- LAST DAY
1 P.M. * 5 P.M. * 9 P.M.

STILL HIRING!

Mark assembles his staff. "Okay, guys, business was a little slow yesterday, but I'm sure it will pick up. Just do your best. Oh, and if anybody asks about a job here, the applications are in the drawer underneath the cash register at the refreshment stand."

New Shop

A shabby but pleasant-looking shop has appeared in town. There is no name on the outside, but looking through the window will reveal a small dimly-lit room filled with old-fashioned wooden bookshelves. The shelves are packed with an assortment of old and rather dusty books.

Taped to the inside of the window is a sign, hand-lettered in neat but rather old-fashioned writing:

CLOSED

Apologies for any inconvenience

A. Phale, proprietor

(OOC: the shop, which sells rare books, will be open anytime after today. However, in RL I have a job and will only be able to respond to posts after 6:00PM ET -- US.)

(Second OOC: I am not British. I humbly apologize in advance for any rampant non-British-ness in these posts. I'll do my best!)

*So what if I have classes tomorrow? Wouldn't be the first time I've taught while hungover*

Barkeep, Disaronno on the rocks and keep it coming.

The steady beat of techno music can be heard flowing to the outside world as the flashing lights cast a shimmery glow on the patrons within. Typically know as a male gay bar though others are welcomed to come and have a little fun, get high, get laid and generally have a good time.

The beat plays on. )

I realize that I'm quite a bit behind with the Fandom Townies list, but I'm trying to grant people access to other comms and get my class roster updated.

That having been said, when you add something to the Fandom Townies list here:

http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh_ooc/14982.html

Please list usernames, full character names and any other information you think would be handy.

Could a maintainer of that community possibly link the post on the info page so that we can have a directory of people and places that is easily perused?

A new sign, also hand-lettered in pleasant script, has appeared in the door of the new bookshop. It reads:

OPEN

RARE BOOKS
A. Phale, proprietor
