First day on the job, Annette was feeling a little perky. Actually it is her first day of working ever in her entire life. It was kind of neat. Moist had already come and gone, handwavily showing her the ropes. She met Gladys and didn't really care to do that again. A seven foot mountain of hard clay with glowing eyes was not something she cared to run into every day. Or every minute.

She was currently standing at the counter when her phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Good morning, sweetheart."

"Can't talk now, mom. I'm working."

"What did you say?"

"Um, nothing. I'm in class. We are at the post office learning about the sorting machine and how it works. Very educational."

" ..."

"Sorry, mom..." Annette banged her phone against the counter. "The machine! I think it's going to blow!! I'll call back later if I die! Got to go, love you!"

Annette hung up and smiled and started to decorate the counter. She put out two jars of free suckers, and set up a slender vase of pretty sping flowers.

The Post Office is open.

(ooc: please wait for ocd. yes. do it. wait I say!)

Lana opened the store, still thinking about her Forensics class from this morning. She straightened everything up and got the store ready to open, then turned on some more upbeat music and sat behind the counter to work on some homework. She couldn't keep her thoughts from straying to the incredible kimono robe that Jim had bought for her in Japan though. What an amazing guy he was!

There was still quite a lot of chocolate in the store, so Teddy helped himself to a bit and started doing some homework.

Mmm. Chocolatey homework.

Wednesday
Pi Day

Anyone visiting the church today were unlikely to leave without a pie of their choosing; there was certainly a wide variety to choose from.

...Rosette might have been a wee bit confused about the meaning behind this particular day.

Turtle almost didn't want to remove her hand as she opened up the store today with it covering her eyes. She was nervous; she didn't know if she wanted to see what damage the flood had caused. It was what prevented her from coming in earlier that week, as if putting it off would make it disappear.

Surprisingly, though, it wasn't too bad. Not nearly as bad as she imagined. But she had imagined it to be pretty bad.

But, most importantly, the register seemed okay. And, even if it wasn't, it had one heck of a warranty on it.

Today's Squishy Flavors: Kelp, Plankton, Red.

Turtle & Canary is open.

Cafe Fina, Wednesday

Right. This was simply never going to do. Walter surveyed the still somewhat kelpy mess with an expression on his face that had certain kitchenware shaking in their hipwaders.

The rest of the day would be spent in a flurry of activity that would likely leave him unpopular with most of Cafe Fina's staff for a while, but which would make great headway toward restoring the restaurant to the standards to which Walter was accustomed.

Today's Specials:
Spic n Spanakopita, Formula 409 Bean Salad, Scrubbing Bubble Tea

The bar was clean, the zombies were dry, and Jarod was surfing the internet on his laptop, trying to find a way to keep M from waking him up at 6 am (and 6:25, 6:47, and 8:04) by howling and chattering for no apparent reason.

He loved M, and really didn't want to chuck her out the window, but he was starting to hear *mrrroooooooooow* in his dreams, and it was getting annoying.

Tonight's Sin?

Sloth.

The drink?

Gin. Straight. By virtue of it was the bottle closest to hand.

Leo had a paper bag with brownies in it. He loved brownies. He checked his camera and the flash to make sure all was ready.

ooc: here for Annette, but park is open. Leo and Annette will eat brownies and look for ghosts. Just to forwarn y'all

After cheerleading, Chad headed in for his Wednesday evening shift at Empire, but wasn't really feeling it much tonight. He was sort of just looking forward to it being over, thinking of stopping in at Caritas for an after work beer, because he hadn't done that in a while. He made sure to get the store ready for stock coming in tomorrow, and played a lot of Spanish guitar music over the systems. He'd been in moods for it lately.

[[ empire's open not forgotten about, really ]]
