Millie happily set out tea and biscuits and cocoa for any potential customers

Millie put up a big sign in the window reading:

Then she settled down to work on planning her garden out back.

She was certainly available for customers and to meet with any potential employees!

Proudfoot was, once again, dozing in the front window.

Jamie of course isn't even on the planet today but for some reason whatever sock puppets that survived being beaten by Walter and Pippi yesterday have slithered across town and collectively decided to open up Empire Records.

The music being played is music from the 1950's.

You know...

The kind played at a "Sock Hop".

Empire is open for business.

Watch out for your feet.

[ooc: Not in an RP state of mind so please mod the socks]

Katara got to the post office bright and early.

Which actually meant that she had gotten distracted by taking the long way that included going to the beach to town and had to run to make it to the post office before nine.

Still she was happy to see that the place hadn't burned down over the past week and waved to Gladys happily.  After she opened the doors and made sure the stamps and letters and writing supplies were in the right spot, she started an inspection to make sure all the mail had stayed dry.  Because she took her duties as Assistant Postmaster In Charge of Dryness seriously.

Giles had taken the day off yesterday to deal with his things for his flat arriving. But he was back in the shop this morning, finishing up the last of the organising and pricing in antiicpation of an official opening tomorrow where there will hopefully be sales made and cash exchanged for goods, and dear lord he had been hanging around Anya far too long.

The front door still sported the

HELP WANTED

Apply Within

sign.

Jude was wrestling with the specials board. He was pretty sure he wasn't allowed to call everything the Rikku Special. Thus, there are no specials today while Jude attempts to not be quite so dorky.

Which often takes the form of napping behind the counter in the manner of Dante.

[[Open, but I'm kinda bleh so you might want to grab a moddable NPC server.]]

The twins were feeling a little under the weather again not unlike their mun, suddenly... They lay around on the counter, bored and wishing they could just stay in bed all day rather than go to class/work.

Sparky Repairs is open~

*Splish...splunk*

Leo frowned and tried again.

*Splish..splish..splunk*

That was better.

Leo was attempting to skip stones on the pond.

ooc: post is open. It's nice out. Get some air.

Neil whistled good naturedly as he came into the Nest for his night's work. He waved to Mazikeen as he gathered up some clean bar towels and headed behind the bar.

Tonight's cleaning theme seemed to be all about sweeping the Nest out from wall to wall and if the music playing in the dance area just happened to cause Neil to dance with his mop, well...really he couldn't annoy Mazikeen any more than he already did, right?

River walked around the Acorn, carefully inspecting how the ship had survived the flood. Surprisingly well, it seemed. River found a few crabs hiding under the fuel tank, and removed some seaweed, and threw out the furniture which had started to smell oddly. She made a mental note of finding new furniture.

But the ship itself was intact, there seemed to be fuel left, and they should be ready to go.

[ooc: Preplayed with [livejournal.com profile] strongestgirl. No interaction possible, although people can notice the spaceship of course.]

Phoebe opened the bar after checking over the zombies and everything else. She was quiet and not as cheerful as she usually was. She set herself up behind the bar.

Marie got to work just on time and looked over the information Leo had left around about the new items he was planning to order. It was good to see that he was planning to join the 21st century.

The barrier had once again proved uncrossable, though it *had* yielded slightly this time. Discouraging, but progress was progress, he supposed.

And now he was wandering around, curious to see if there was anyone else out this late who could be of any use to him.

[ooc: for [livejournal.com profile] drlambert. that they talked is okay for broadcast, everything else NFB.]

Lana came in and took over from Millie at 2.  She was really enjoying working for her new boss.  She made sure the water for tea and cocoa was fresh and settled in to do some homework while waiting for any customers.

Moist had a coffee, a pastry he was prepared to believe was of divine origin, a comfortable table by the window with a clear line of sight to two exits - not necessary, he was sure, but old habits die hard - and everything he needed to write to Spike.

In short, he was pleased. The Post Office was intact, the Sorting Engine hadn't eaten anyone, and there were no deities to be seen (although there'd been a long and thoughtful pause before he'd set foot in the home of a God of Biscuits). Apart from yesterday's brief and rather memorable encounter with what appeared to be a carnivorous sock, the island seemed calm and peaceful.

Which means something disastrous is going to happen any minute. Moist glanced around expectantly, but the laws of comic narrative apparently had their attention directed elsewhere this morning, so he shrugged and went back to writing his letter.

[ooc: open for all your godly biscuit needs, Moist or otherwise!]

Turtle still had a bit of time before she had to meet the taxi at the causeway to take her to the airport so she could go home for the weekend, so she went to the bakery to treat herself to the best birthday breakfast ever: a super-sugary and over-decorated birthday mini-cake. Alllll to herself. She found a table to sit and enjoy it over today's edition of the Journal.
