Johnny was in a fairly good mood this morning when he opened up the Photo Hut. After handwavily stopping off at the Perk for a coffee and bagel to go, he set himself behind the counter to enjoy his breakfast while looking at his latest motocross magazine.

Photo Hut is open.

(forgot - extreme sp for most of the day today until at least 4 pm EST)

Millie was rather surprised when Chris didn't show up at 10 to open the store.  She went down and opened it up herself, feeling that disturbing combination of annoyed and worried that something might have happened.

Deadpool was going to try sparring with a new partner today, and this is why he was doing a strange little hoppity dance while he waited.

(Fighty time that doesn't involve ruining the living room with blood!)

And there was also that. Second time in only a few months that he needed to replace the couch. He buying tarps if the roomie kept wanting to fight there, damn it.

[[ooc: Open for your gymly needs, Deadpool is here for the Mountie, the lil' minion, the spy, possibly the ninja and the roomie. ...he likes to fight, what can I say?]]

Having spent most of the night handwavily keeping Wilson company at the clinic, Aziraphale decided to give the man a little space, and a breather from the inevitable fussing.

And so there he was, sitting on the bench, absentmindedly crumbling bits of scone for the ducklings and staring off into space. He wasn't brooding, precisely, but there was definitely some introspection going on.

[ooc: Open for all your park needs. Aziraphale is a little quiet and mopey today, so be warned.]

Katara was less interested in the post office today and more interesting in worrying if her Best Roommate Ever (tm) was doing better.  And wanting to visit said Best Roommate Ever and try to heal him again.

But she didn't think Mr. Von Lipwig would approve her skipping work unless it was an emergency so she was at the post office.  Working.  Really.  She was definitely not trying to play with Not Tiddles.

And Teddy was at work again. He better be getting brownie points for not just fleeing to get to the clinic and check on Chad.

Emo and Goth were acting very smug after being put in charge the other day so Teddy was loathe to do so again. He'd go during his lunch break or something.

Aravis found her way to the Perk, pleased at not getting lost at all today, and pored over the selection. She would argue with anyone who said she snapped at the barista for rushing her, and finally decided on a Turkish tea with linden flower.

She settled at a table with her cup, and patiently -- no, really -- for Rikku.

[Aravis is waiting for Rikku, but feel free to use for your Perkly and Aravis-poking-not-dirty needs]

Another dollar, another day. Turtle was sort of wishing she didn't have the majority of her workshops all on one day because random distractions of stuff would be nice.

So would someone wanting a freakin' job. Turtle added glitter to the "Help Wanted" sign. Maybe that will help.

Today's Squishy Flavors: Red, Coffee, Pie.

Turtle & Canary is open!

Melody took down the store's help wanted sign, then set up her portable drum kit in the store window. She banged away, keeping time to herself on the Pussycats CD as she waited for customers.

The kittens watched her from the safety of the heavy metal section.

The beach wasn't all that hard to find, considering it was a large area of sand and water, and Gavin will never admit to getting lost once. Twice. Shut up. He found his way eventually.

He's spent the time since then crouched down, fingers running through the sand and eyes on the water. It felt...different than the sand on Tatooine. He couldn't really describe how only that it was.

He really shouldn't be this fascinated by water but he was.

[Gavin's here for someone specific but the beach is, of course, open and full of sand.]

Café Fina, Wednesday

Ah, another day, another food shipment.

Lumiere knew better than to expect that there actually be food in those crates. When was there ever? Well, except for that one time, but that time totally left him boggling.

So, today, when they pried open the crate and a cob of corn looked up at him and stared to sing at him soulfully, followed shortly after by a whole compliment of other singing food items, he simply declared that everyone in the kitchen wear earplugs today to drown out the screams as the cooks started to dutifully steam, peel, and bake the veggies to their hearts' content.

The Specials Board Reads:
Pay no attention to any unpleasant sounds that come from the kitchen today. It's faulty equipment. Honest.

They were not in the business of giving peas a chance.

Mary wheeled her suitcases over to the front desk and set down the shoulder bag, garment bag and train case. Then pulled her hair out of her face and tried to catch her breath. It was tough trying to cart almost all of your worldly belongings all by yourself.

"Can I help you?" asked the front desk clerk.

"Hi there. I'm Mary Connell. I'm the new hotel manager," said Mary, extending her hand. Hopefully this would go over better than the last time she started a new job. When Ed Deline hired her to take over as the manager of the Montecito, she came into work on her first day and found that Ed's boss had hired someone else to be hotel manager. It had worked out -- eventually.

"Oh, hi!" said the clerk, grabbing her hand and shaking vigorously. "We weren't expecting you so soon! Is there anything I can get you?"

"Um, I think I'm going to need a room to stay in for now. And maybe a couple of extra hands to help with all this luggage?" Mary said with a wave at all of her bags.

"Wow! You must have brought everything you owned!" The clerk came around to the front of the desk and started picking up bags.

"Yeah, I did," said Mary, handing over her garment bag. "I'm relocating from out of state."

"So where did you work previously?"

"Las Vegas. I used to be the manager that the Montecito," said Mary.

"Oh, wow! That's fantastic! This is going to be a big change for you. We're not as busy as one of those big fancy Las Vegas hotels," gushed the clerk. "So what made you decide to come out here?"

Mary gulped. She could still hear Ed Deline's words as he drove her to the airport. "Remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. For your own sake, don't tell anyone about your father or why you had to leave."

[OOC: Aaand my boss just called on my day off to say that she needs me to come in right away! Mary's going to get herself settled in and will be out and about town tomorrow.]

Just before dusk, the temporary movie screen is set up. There's a large open area in front of it, where movie-goers can spread out blankets or set up lawn chairs. Some people are already gathered, picnicking while the sun sets.

[OOC: The movie begins at dusk, and the screen will be removed afterwards. OCD threads will be have been set up for your movie-going use. Anyone who needs the park for other purposes will find that the outdoor cinema takes up only a portion of the park, with plenty of space available for non-movie needs.]
[identity profile] jarodpretends.livejournal.com
Jarod was at work. No, really, he was there. The fact that Tino was manning the bar and the band had taped themselves together--well, Jaye was leaving town today. Any rumors of the zombies being taped to Tino in a feat of distractedness on Jarod's part and him being made to sit down at the end of the bar, away from the tape, were surely exaggerated and started by squirrels who were out to get revenge on Jarod for some imagined slight.

Except for the part where Jarod was down at the end of the bar, nursing a cherry Coke and, presumably, waiting for Jaye.

Giles was a little late opening up the shop today. He'd found some information on creatures similar to Fandom gremlins and had got so caught up with it, he'd lost all track of time. Pulling non-apocalyptic research all nighters wasn't as easy as it used to be.

Yawning, he sat down at his desk and sipped at his coffee.

The Magic Box was open.

Kabuto was still in a pretty mellowed-out mood. But he was not so out of it that he didn't notice the newly 're-organized' bottles.

One of his eyebrows twitched as he studied the haphazard way they'd been placed, and he made a mental note to speak with Tuesday's bartender about how to properly catagorize alcohol. As it was, he was going through with the power of OCD and completely rearranging everything to its proper place.

The Devil's Nest was open.

After spending the better part of the afternoon and early evening in town, Isabel was ready to head back to the cabins.

After a quick stop at the Kwiki-Mart, she headed down the path, mini-flashlight in hand. )

[ooc: preplayed with [livejournal.com profile] chchch_hahaha aka Squish. Isabel's waiting for a specific hero who knows who he is. NFB please!]

The station was exceptionally quiet as Roy had changed the troopers' shifts so they would be out an patrolling the streets of Fandom 24/7. Not that he had much faith in keeping a town completely safe with a four man patrol while the other half of the troopers were trying to get some rest.

Roy looked like he might have needed some rest himself. He'd spent most of the night and morning out, but there had been no sign of the attacker anywhere. While he'd much rather be out still, he decided to give Ralph some time to get rest and took up position behind the front desk as he waited for Molly to come in like he'd asked her to.

Hopefully her statement and those of the students Cooper would be talking to would make things easier. He was almost wishing for another building to explode as at least no one got hurt then.

((Open if you need to catch the Sheriff.

ETA: For radio people, topics of conversation are NFB due to investigations being secret.))

Jason stalked the woods with greater agitation with each step.

Something needed to die. Someone.

Pity the next thing to cross his path. )[ooc: Violence behind the cut. Preplayed with those involved. No IC interaction available, OOC comments welcome. Also, the identity of the attacker is NFB.]

"This is it," she said to John, turning to look up at him with a little grin. "Told you it was in town." Opening the door, she entered before him...

A fresh shipment of candles had arrived, so Tannim reorganized that section. He wasn't sure if he should put the Essence of Slug ones near the front (so they'd sell) or near the back (so they wouldn't drive people away.) He compromised by finding the Slug candles a spot of their own. He wondered if they had a special purpose. Maybe they kept gremlins away? He sniffed one, and grimaced. They'd probably keep all living things away.

The Magic Box was open.

Feeling somewhat cranky and destructive, Mel decided to burn things.
