So now he had a job. And a roommate. And, hopefully, some fun classes to take.

All he needed now was to find that Annette girl and borrow her Wii. He didn't think asking everyone if they were Annette would be the fastest way to do this, even though it might be fun. Maybe if he got a poster and some glitter like Turtle had at the store...

Halfway through that thought he had oh so handwavily gone and grabbed a poster at Turtle&Canary, leaving some money behind for the guy who wasn't his boss. And pausing long enough to sway in front of the squishie machine so it's eyes followed him.

Yup, still cool.

So now there he was. Sitting next to a duck pond, with a poster and trying to think of a way to write this. It had to be something awesome...

Yeah, boring. He set the poster aside and watched the little ducklings run around. they were just staring to look like adults and were so very awkward. Bart could so relate.

Magic Box, Wednesday

The mysterious mystery crate had been picked up the night before and its absence made Giles a lot happier.

He was just finishing putting up the signage over the display Robin had helped set up yesterday and stepped back to look at it.

Gabriel was in an unusually good mood today, and had even gone and bought himself a box of donuts and a large caramel mocha. The food went quite well with the novel he was currently reading, and he occasionally chuckled to himself at the foolishness of monkeys.

[The church is open.]

Sometime after the beach party, Aeryn heads over to Caritas because first, she's having a slightly weird day, and second, this is probably the last time she's going to be in here for a while. When she walks in, though, she thinks it might be early because no one's around yet except for the zombie band. "Hello?" she calls.

One of the zombies, wearing a festive sparkler headband that's long gone out, waves her towards the bar... until his hand falls off.

"No. I'm not here to work," she says.

The zombie waves with his other hand, which is looking a little hit and miss.

Aeryn considers this, finally deciding that if she's behind the bar, she doesn't have to worry about dealing with anyone else. Also, she can put this on a job application, right?

That would be why she's behind the bar tonight, at least until Tino shows up a little late.

[I'm going to be largely AFK tonight, so Tino can totally have shown up to moddedly serve you, unless you wanna wait a while for a ping. Plans fell through. I'm around.]

The problem with moving your entire household without having to pack was that you didn't get the chance to go through your things and reorganize when you reached your new residence.

"I'll have to ask you to go back. ...No, I really think you'd prefer it in there."

The seal barked and gave him a hopeful look.

D sighed. "I know we're on an island, but this is not your ocean. Please, you know I'm not unreasonable, but I haven't yet seen what lives in these waters."

Snuffling, the seal shuffled around and waddled back through the door.

Closing it firmly, D shook his head as a slender cat rubbed against his ankle. "I know, I don't like saying no either," he said, moving up to the front of the shop to put up the hours sign. "But this island is very strange. I would hate for someone to get hurt out of ignorance."

It was just another day for the ninja, so it was probably a good thing that he was opening the bar instead of someone who would rather be celebrating. The place was fairly clean already, so he merely straightened a few things before sitting down behind the bar with a book.

Anyone coming to visit the Post Office today would find it closed up tight, with a sign affixed to the doors:

Closed for the Fourth of July - why not visit the beach party, so you have something to write to people about tomorrow?

Gladys was out the front, though, despite the closure, scrubbing the façade, sweeping the steps, and generally beautifying the building. Golems had exactly one day of rest per week, and Wednesday's weren't it.

The Post Office is closed! The mail boxes, however, are open, for all your posting needs.

[ooc: and if anyone wants to stop by and talk to Gladys, feel free to do so!]

After the morning's little adventure, Karal had had to dash to make it to the stables before Molly. He arrived first, though not by much, and quickly saddled up a very bouncy Trenor, helped Molly to mount once she arrived, then swung up behind her.

Altra they'd left sleeping upside down, paws in the air, on a bale of hay.

Arms by necessity (and by preference, truth be known) around Molly so he could hold the reins, Karal guided Trenor down onto the sand. "And here we are at the beach."

[ooc: this is happening well before the Fourth of July party starts. The thread with Molly and Karal is locked to them, thanks, but the post is open for anyone's pre-party-beach needs! Molly modded with permission.]
