Mary was in a very good mood as she came down to the lobby to help set up afternoon tea. She had a good time at the ball last night and had only heard good things about the food Gunther made.

There wasn't a whole lot of warning for what happened next. One moment, Mary was setting a pitcher of milk on the buffet table. The next thing she knew, she was looking up at the table and hoping Gunther would give her a saucer of milk. She swished her tail and meowed hopefully, trying to get the chef's attention.

Yes, Mary had turned into a kitten.

[OOC: Open! Mod your own service and be confounded at the hotel-woman-turned kitten. I'm not going to be around much today, but if you need anything, let me know in the OOC thread.]

Charlie had more protest songs playing today, but interspersed with AC/DC and Josie and the Pussycats. The kittens were now stalking one another down the aisles, imitating last month's saber-tooth.

Groovy Tunes was open.

A few hours before dawn a trooper patrol approached the school gates. After inspecting the parameter, the patrol was on its way again, leaving two troopers behind who set up on either side of the gate. They had specific orders to contact the station if Umbridge set foot outside of school grounds and to prevent her from returning inside. While the sheriff was aware this might not be very effective, it was just a first step.

((Pretty much establishy and done with Umbridge's permission. The troopers won't stop or interfere with anything. They're solely here to keep an eye out for Umbridge and will most likely remain there until a more solid plan is thought up.))

Two airships slowly approached the island. As they drew closer any observers might be able to make out warlike symbols painted in garish colours on the sides of the rather patched up ships, accompanied by something that looked like text in a strange language. Reaching Selkie Cove, the two ships circled for a while, then let down their anchors. A rope ladder was rolled down from each airship and a number of figures nimbly climbed down from one of them, carrying between them a large wooden cage. Once on the ground, the cage was firmly attached to the ground with ropes. Three of the ship crew stayed close to the cage, while the remaining four headed off towards the town.

[Establishing, NFI. The visitors are not moddable, but the airships, their arrival and the ones staying behind are observable by anyone.] ETA: The goblins have now anchored at Selkie Cove, not Galactica Point, and should be less conspicous to the local law enforcement.

The singing was making him crazy, and it never stopped. Didn't the creatures ever sleep? Gabriel had tried shouting, waving his arms, more shouting, throwing things and glaring, but the flying blue hedgehogs had seemed completely oblivious to his existence. He had finally just lay down on his bed, covered his ears with his hands and tried to use the same tactic towards them. It hadn't quite worked.

Suddenly the doors slammed open, and the sound of people moving could be heard. The singing immediately changed into a strange, screeching theme, and hoarse voices called out in a guttural language. Gabriel sat up and looked around. Halfway down the aisle stood a group of what could best be described as goblins, who pointed at the flying blue hedgehogs and waved enthusiastically. One of them was wearing an odd spikey hat and another carried a staff and a big heavy-looking book. Gabriel blinked.

All of a sudden the four goblins brought out what looked like large butterfly nets and began to wave them about, trying to catch the now clearly worried hedgehogs. While Gabriel was relieved to be rid of the things, he did not approve of strangers just entering his church and catching them without asking. "Hey!" he called out, approaching the group. "What do you think you're doing?"

The goblin in the spikey hat turned and gave him an odd look, then shouted something in their strange language.

"Look, just take the hedgehogs, I hope they're yours, but I expect a 'thanks for looking after them for us'." Gabriel glared threateningly.

Another one of the goblins pulled out a gun and fired, and Gabriel suddenly found himself engulfed in sticky goo. He couldn't move, but he screamed curses at the intruders who proceeded to completely ignore him. Soon most of the hedgehogs were stuck in the nets, and the goblins headed out through the doors, leaving Gabriel behind, still stuck to the floor unable to move.

"Hey! Get me out of this!" he called after them, but they paid no attention.

One might wonder where Leo had been on Friday. They would not be able to get a satisfactory answer out of him however. Cause chances were he didn't remember.

It might have something to do with the coonskin cap he was wearing, and the blue bunny slippers. Or possibly not.

Photo Hut is open.

"Is that a hedgehog?" Moist stared from where he was standing in the doorway of the post office. "With wings?! Gladys, where did it come from?"

"I Do Not Know, Mr Von Lipwig."

"Huh." Closer observation showed that it was, in fact, a hedgehog. A blue one, with wings. Which was possibly the strangest thing he'd ever seen. "I know a song about hedgehogs. Not the sort of thing I usually sing sober." He blinked as the hedgehog flew over to perch on Glady's head. "Then again, that's not the sort of thing I usually see when I'm sober."

It didn't seem to be doing any harm, so he shrugged and started getting the post office ready. He was singing under his breath while he did so.

[ooc: OCD is NWS today, because I can't resist the chance to use the song. Hedgehog modded with permission. And I'm going to sleep now, will pick up any pings in a few hours. ETA: That Roy and Moist talked fine, topic of convo NFB, please.]

The two airships quickly rose into the air and moved across the preserve, the ropes from the hedgehog cage still dangling beneath one of them. The damage from the blaster fire destabilized the airship however, and it began to wobble, slowly losing altitude. The other ship, its speed increasing, was already halfway out to sea when the sticky goo on the dangling ropes got caught in the treetops, pulling the slower ship down. Released by what seemed like some kind of emergency catapults, seven shapes were hurled out of the gondola. They would have hit the trees as well if it hadn't been for their parachutes, patched and colourful like the ships, with which they glided out to sea and landed in the water. The remaining ship released the ladder and picked up the survivors, before quickly setting out to sea and disappearing beyond the horizon.

The abandoned airship had been swallowed up by the trees in the preserve, lost in its surprising vastness as much as the now freed blue hedgehogs.

[[The goblins are now gone from Fandom. Somewhere in the preserve lies a crashed airship. You won't find it if you go looking. There is also a hidden colony of flying blue hedgehogs. You won't find them either.

The airships were still floating over Selkie Cove. On the ground below the wooden cage was now full of flying blue hedgehogs, who were singing a sad, mournful melody. The goblins on the other hand seemed quite enthusiastic and were talking to each other in their own tongue. One of them, the one carrying the staff and a heavy book, was singing a cheerful song in what sounded like an attempt to compete with the hedgehogs.

Slowly two ropes were hauled down from one of the airships and the goblins on the ground connected them to the cage. The singing of the hedgehogs turned louder.

[For the people involved in the goblin plot and only for them.]
