It was quite clear, five minutes after opening the store and discovering a bunch of boxes behind the counter that it was going to be another one of those days where Turtle would be on the phone all day with her distributors.

"Tell me!" she shrieked to no one in particular, except maybe Apu as if he could possibly know the answer, "what in the world are we going to do with fifteen boxes of coal? No one even uses coal for heat any more!"

Turtle, of course, hadn't realized the sorts of messages she could be sending to certain other Fandomites. Yet. Give her time and a few of those phone calls...

As if his recent, angst-driven art binge hadn't been enough, A.J. had found the field trip for his art class even more inspirational. By the end of this shift, he suspected that brand new, crisp sketchbook he picked up in the gift shop was going to be entirely full.

Assuming, of course, that very few people actually bothered coming in and making him do things like, you know, work.

The bit of a funk Beauty had slipped into last week was clearing away now, mostly due to the invitation A.J. had made on Sunday. She had her favorite copy of the Iliad with her today, and was reading aloud to Gladys and Tiddles.

The cat had decided to be quiet and invisible. Gabriel considered this an improvement until she showed up with a dead mouse and left it next to his coffee cup. He held up the dead animal by the tail and sniffed it, then glared at the cat. "Don't think you'll be able to bribe me.

The cat just watched him.

While poking around on the computer at the front desk, Hoshi discovered a game called Bejeweled. She played it a couple of times just to see what it was about. Then she played it a couple more times to see if she could get a higher score. Pretty soon, Hoshi was so engrossed in the game that she didn't even notice Gunther asking her for help in the kitchen.

It wasn't that Kabuto hadn't seen snow before, it was just that it wasn't terribly common...unless one went to the Wave country. That was why Kabuto was running through some taijutsu exercises outside, instead of studying in his room.

There was always the temptation of snowballs once the snow got thick enough, but that just wasn't as fun without a target.

It had been a fun day. Kabuto didn't really feel like working, but he was behind the bar, as usual.

He entertained himself by doodling nonsense in his notebook.

For a while, at least. Then he left a voicemail for Ino and headed out, leaving Musubi in charge.

After leaving a voicemail for Ino, Kabuto picked up his light, almost white-colored cloak and left the Devil's Nest for the park. He staked out a place, making a stash of ready-throw snowballs, and settled in to wait for her to come by.

Caritas, Wednesday Night

Hey, it was Wednesday, and she still had a job. Wasn't that something. She had an apartment, a real job, and she hadn't even gotten into any drunken brawls lately. Still felt kinda strange, going legit.

In the meantime, Caritas was open, and its bartender was sipping on a Jack and Coke.
