It was Tropical Day at Groovy Tunes. That meant Mel was wearing a bikini and sarong and had a flower behind one ear, the cats all had leis that they were trying to chew off, a giant bowl of fruit punch sat on a table near the door, and there was a 30 percent off sale on all reggae, calypso, and steel drum music.

Behind the counter, Mel was humming a Kirsty MacColl song.

Wellspring Arms - Tuesday

Ed made his way into Wellspring Arms and for once didn't immediately pull out his notebook to start making notes.  Instead he stood in front of the cases, studying the weapons and wondering.

Gabriel sat on the steps to the church, playing a few of the apocalyptic fanfares. He hated to admit it, but they didn't sound as impressive as they used to. The Cat was not impressed either, and paced around him, letting out occasional wails to show her displeasure.

A tree in the park, Tuesday lunchtime

After visiting Kerrigan, River had brought her lunch to the park. She had found a new tree this time, one she had never climbed before, and one of the branches had grown in a way that made it comfortable for her to lie on her back on it, her legs and tangly hair hanging down, her eyes staring up at the grey sky.

The park, she was quite sure, was her favourite part of being at Fandom. Juli walked slowly through the park, sipping a coffee, and not really thinking of much. Her class was planned for tomorrow, her computer deliberately left back at her apartment, and there was nothing she could do about what was going on in her absence back home.

It was soothing having this much nature around. She wasn't used to it.
