The End of the Causeway: Wednesday Morning

The two buses had pulled up to the far side of the Causeway, waiting to take the students, their chaperones, and the luggage to the airport for a plane ride, another plane ride, and then a bus ride to the Akumal Beach Resort on the lovely Mexican Caribbean.

Peter was looking slightly anxious as he tried to make sure everyone and everything was accounted for before they left the island.  After was a different story, and he couldn't affect that so much, but now, it was, in a very odd sense, like he was arranging a campaign and acknowledging that all plans last to the first engagement.

Which was with the airport.  Sometimes Peter was happy that he was going back to Narnia soon so he could start thinking normally about battles again.

Ino made it to work slightly early, which really, made her kinda late by her standards but whatever. She'd been tired, okay? At least she wasn't sleeping at work this week. Surely that was an improvement. Flipping the sign to Open, she went about sweeping and dusting. After that she settled in for a good bout of needless fussing over her plants.

And Planning. Yes, really. No, she wouldn't tell you what she was planning for.

George Michael was sick with a cold. It's why he didn't work yesterday mostly because his mun is a dumbass and forgot to post and stayed in bed all day.

Today he shuffled into work and parked his rear behind the counter. His nose was terribly red and his eyes were puffy. Maybe he was just suffering allergies of some sort. Who knew. But he would be damned if he was going to eat any peanuts today. You know, just in case.

The Arms Hotel Lobby, Wednesday

When Jeff arrived in the lobby in the morning, he found Gunther sulking in the kitchen. He wasn't entirely sure why, and for a moment, he might have considered saying something. If anything, at least about what food they were serving.

Except maybe not.

He crept backwards out of the kitchen, quietly set up the specials board, then turned on the television. Beachview was on, and as long as Gunther was sulking, that meant he wasn't yelling through any of Pamela's lines.

Because that would've been a real tragedy.
