There was a very somber Mary at the front desk today. After making another futile attempt to call Delinda and Danny, she gave up and started looking online at wedding dresses.

If you're going to be a cashier monkey, you might as well sell the bananas.

...not that Geoffrey's logic had extended that far, really. His was much more simple as he took up his new post. It went something like this:

Money = space = theater.

It was that last one which was the important one. And if you're wondering where 'food' and 'shelter' come into that equation, it's probably best you don't. He's not.

Melody did not see why everyone else got a spring break and she didn't. It was totally and absolutely no fair.

So she took one, packing the kitties into her VW Bug and planning a road trip to New York to go shopping and see a few shows. Groovy Tunes was shuttered tight today, and a sign on the door informed potential customers that it was closed until Monday.

There was a man with a laptop and some less identifiable electronics sitting near the edge of the causeway, mostly out of sight, studying his screen intently. Every once in a while, he'd look up, a narrow frown creasing his face, the occasional shimmer of blue stealing through the air.

This was Cable's spring break.

Of a kind. His mind was bustling with the edge of static again.

[ open if anyone is going wandering down the causeway and actually spots the big guy ]

Robin was really, really bored when she opened Caritas. Everyone she usually expected to come into the bar was in freaking Mexico. God.

She amused herself by making up some new drinks, specifically with grenadine, if she could, and writing down the recipes. No reason.

The truck had run out of gas a few miles ago, when it had still been daylight and Cameron hadn't had the energy to try to find a gas station that may or may not have working tanks. Not when his goal had been so much closer and he'd started walking, Ray following him on his heels. Now, he was almost starting to regret the decision. Earlier there had been the roar of the engine, but now there was nothing but the sound of his boots hitting the concrete and the soft pad of Ray's paws behind him. The world that stretched out around him was a silent one and now that everything had grown dark, the loneliness seemed to echo from it and ever house that he passed was either empty or a tomb. He tried to take comfort from it that at least, his own home wouldn't stand like that forever.

Walking was an automatic now... )

((NFI, but oh so open for OOC comments. Finally made it.

Preplayed with the awesome [livejournal.com profile] needsaparrot and [livejournal.com profile] geniusdoctor who deserve many, many thanks.))
