He'd replaced the door with something plastic for the occasion. It functioned like a door, but the little Open sign had gone missing in yesterday's scuffle.

Cable had thoughtfully ducttaped a sheet of paper reading Open on it in a weak moment.

He also was still out of a desk, so he'd salvaged the phone to place the calls necessary to get it fixed, and was now piecing together parts of the Penetraitor Harness.

It could still be useful.

Lucas hated daylight savings. It had stolen a precious hour of sleep from him, and despite knowing he really hadn't done much over the weekend, his body deemed sleep was to continue longer and was rebelling against him in exhaustion.

And yet, here Lucas was, opening Wonders on time, his head resting tiredly on the counter.

He'd get up in a minute and do some work. Really.

If Yitzhak paid any mind to the statues around town today, it was only to survey them with a slow, detached gaze and mentally critique their sculpted clothing. And then he went about his business again.

He could've sworn, as he unlocked the diner's front door and caught sight of the reflection in the glass, that one of the statues had been behind him to the left a second ago, not to the right . . . but he chalked that up to the extra couple of hits he'd taken off the -- *COUGH* -- in his apartment just before he'd left. He was wishing he'd taken a couple more, now, because one of the kitchen guys had apparently been afflicted by a case of The Dumb and kept asking him questions about how to use a toaster.

Luke's is open, and no, it's really not a little fragrant in here, it's just . . . lingering scent from Saturday's cleaning spree. That's it. Yep. Really.

Fandom Post Office, Mon., 3/10

Annette was seated behind the counter sipping a white chocolate mocha. She also had a current fashion magazine open across her lap. She was hardly working or working hard. Either way she was there and available did anyone need her.

Even though it was Monday morning, Romeo was cheerful as he opened the store. His shoes were behaving themselves, the store's cleaning products were firmly under the bathroom sink, and he felt no impulse whatsoever to burst into song. He even loved the new angel statues around town.

Plus, there were racks and racks of pretty clothes to look through. Was it tacky to use your employee discount to buy your not-a-girlfriend a birthday present?

Romeo pondered this as he began unpacking a new shipment of spring dresses.

Tom had noticed a sudden increase in the number of statues on the island when coming to work today. Strange. Not as strange as the idea of Mary turning into a cat, or his store cleaning itself, or his shoes running off, of course- this was benign compared to those things. Writing it off as Fandom weirdness, he opened the store with his usual smile and bounciness.

Prince Oscar Pedro still hadn't shut up about what happened between him and that scrub brush (long story short: the kitten lost. Big time. And he was still practically shiny from the thorough cleaning he got), so Chad wasn't sure he'd ever been happier to come to work so he could just toss his cat at the others so that they could go off and play and he could just crank up his music and stop listening to his complaints. Prince Oscar Pedro was getting to that age, like the terrible twos, where he was cranky all the time, but Chad figured he'd just have to steel himself and put up with it until it passed.

Ah, it was a normal day at the banana stand and George Michael couldn't be more pleased. In fact, even Eddie with his screeching curses couldn't sour the good day George Michael just knew he was going to have.

Currently he was going through the new shipment of bananas. Getting out the biggest and best. His customers only deserved the cream of the crop. Same with the nuts. He would chop away later, and enjoy it.

Monday morning, before dawn

In the dark of night, they came. Stone angels, eyes hidden, appearing across Fandom.

They made no sound, gave no warning, they were simply there, as if they'd always been there. As if they belonged.

But they weren't angels.

Existing between one blink and the next, faster than thought, ever hungry and indestructible, they were hunters, unbound by time or space. Only the gaze of a living creature kept them locked in stone. Only watching made them safe.

A blink was all they needed.

They were the kindest killers in the universe.

They had existed since the beginning of time itself.

And they were here.

Jolee and Tino were at it again. Tonight they were competing in a cup stacking contest. Tino decided that Jolee was cheating by using the Force instead of his hands. Moments later, he retracted that declaration and didn't think anything else of it. He was curious why Jolee was smirking, but he suspected it had to do with the fact that Jolee kept winning. Oh well.

Around Fandom - All Day Monday

March in Fandom wasn't anything spectacular. The weather was slowly starting to get warmer, although Summer was a long way off. The oddities of the past week were gone, leaving everything smelling of green apple scented cleaning products. In fact, the only evidence of strangeness around the island today was the presence of some new statues.

They seemed harmless enough though, even if they were a little tacky.
