Today the coffee machine is broken which has led Dale to try and fix it himself in the sort of frenzy a parent might have for a wounded child.

As a result all the troopers are avoiding the coffee station like whoa.

Ino was here. And sweeping and dusting and very definitely paying even more attention to her plants than usual.

… and possibly plotting the best method of ‘attack’ for if Cable-san came down today. He was getting a hug. Seriously. She wanted a hug. Then she’d demand to know why he hadn’t given her a weapon in the past. Seriously.

And then she was considering calling him ‘Mom’. Because ‘Dad’ would find it funny. Okay, okay, so she found it funny too. Shhh.

Wellspring Arms is Open.

Book Haven, Wednesday

'She’d' probably been having too many cupcakes in the last few days, but that didn’t stop Makoto from setting more out with the tea (‘she’d’ gotten the cupcakes from J,GOB not daring, quite yet, to try and make them on ‘her’ own).

Dusting and sweeping, neatly and unhurriedly, ‘she’ then settled behind the counter with a book.

Book Haven is Open.

It had been months since Andrew had worked at the Magic Box, so he took a bit of time before opening to remind himself what exactly it was he was supposed to be doing.

Still, he forgot little things like turning on the store lights lights, uncovering some of the displays, and setting up the register for the day.

Basically, he just unlocked the front door and sat down. He hadn't slept well, had a bit of a headache, and was still just feeling off in general.

He blamed the stasis. "Stupid stasis."

Johnny was at work, in an excellent mood. That's why he wasn't really working, didn't want to ruin it.

Instead he was sitting behind the counter, checking out the current motocross magazine.

Photo Hut is open.

"...yes, I am." George Micheal said to his dad on the other end of the line. His dad had called him on his way to work.

"No, son, you're not. It's ridiculous."

"Dad, we had this talk already."

"...did I forget about it?"

"I, uh --"

"George Michael, you are not getting married. I don't want to talk about it anymore. Think of Pop-Pop."

"But what's he got to do with it?"

"Nevermind, George Michael, the point is you are too young. Come on buddy, think about it. It'll be a huge mistake."

"But I love her."

"I hate to point this out to you, buddy, but you thought you loved Ann too. See? I'm just trying to help you out here. Trust me. Now, I've got to go. Why don't you come home for a visit? Be good for you. Give you some perspective. Love you, son."

"...love you too, dad."

Great. What did this mean? George Michael figured he was going to have a rotten day.

The cafe wasn't actually open, but Fai couldn't read the open/closed sign yet, and nobody had bothered to point it out to him.

The kitchen utensils were currently helping Fai clean up, sweeping and dusting and washing dusty dishes. The blond himself wasn't exactly helping...he was supervising. While sitting at one of the tables with a cup of tea, idly writing down notes on a pad of paper in front of him. There were more doodles in the margins than actual notes, but he was trying to get some ideas for a menu. Having politely declined the cheese grater's offer for help, that left the task entirely up to Fai.

And Kurogane, if the ninja felt so inclined, though Fai had to doubt that; Kurogane was too weirded out by the singing and dancing silverware still.

Still, there was work to be done. Once he'd figured out some possible menu choices, Fai would need to see about how to hire new staff - of the human or humanoid variety. There were definitely positions available.

(Cafe Fina is not quite open for business, so no OCD yet. But if you want to drop by and talk to the new owner(s) or anyone is interested in a job?)

It wasn't his usual day, but nothing about this week was usual, so Romeo was willing to come in on what was normally his day off to make up for the missed shift on Monday.

Though "coming in" didn't have to mean "working," not right away. He was settled happily enough behind the counter with his laptop, IMing with Balthasar.

Who was, judging from his replies, not sure what to make of Romeo's sudden preoccupation with Victorian fashion.

Pixie Dust was open.

When Amber got to work, she bought herself a new colorbook and a pack of crayons. In between waiting on any customers and doing a bit of spot cleaning and shelf straightening, she was coloring behind the counter. It was one of her favorite things to do. She even conned Apu into coloring a page with a pretty pony on it though she promised him she wouldn't tape it up for anyone else to see. Amber might have been crossing her fingers.

Teyla still had some of the bubble wrap John had given her, so she brought it with her to the store to see if the kittens liked it as much as she did. If nothing else, it was amusing to watch them play with it and try to figure out why it kept making noise when they touched it.

Today's music was a pop dance mix. If the squirrels someone looked in at the right time, they might catch Teyla dancing.

Gabriel was staring to have second thoughts about that plan that Karal had managed to talk him into. He tried to make that feeling go away by eating donuts.

The Cat watched.

Hoshi was running a little late this morning. She'd had these really weird dreams last night and only woke up when Porthos started licking her face when it was time for his walk. She jogged into the lobby with Porthos to find Gunther glaring at her.

A.J. was not late. He was simply...off the path of regular arrival. That's all. He couldn't help it that last week through everything through a loop, or that his alarm clock just happened to not turn on again after the snooze went off, right? Right.

Blinking in bleary still tiredness, A.J. very quickly set to the task of seeing if he could hook up something where he could just get coffee flowing into him at all times as he worked, after setting up a specials board that looked like one of those Magic Eye puzzles. As far as A.J. knew, there wasn't actually a hidden image in the colors. He just wanted to see how long it took people to stare at it, and how many people would just make up what they saw, like an inkblot test.

Luke's is open.

Sean was in a vastly better mood than he had been over the weekend. And he wasn't buzzing around like an overly caffeinated bee, either, so your chances of getting him to stay in one spot for more than five seconds were actually pretty good today.

[Wait for the OCD is up!]

Everybody was back home, and she'd gotten wasted on green liquor for St. Patty's. Plus she had her very own vintage bottle of whiskey at home, just waiting for the right opportunity to crack it open.

So it was a pretty good week, Faith had to say. The kind that made you feel like buying a round.

Caritas was open.

(OOC: here, but recovering from plaaaaague, so slow. if speed's your deal, hit up Tino.)

Michael arrived fairly cheerfully to open the restaurant.

The specials would be made up on demand.
