Eddie and Edwina seemed happy to see Sky when he opened the stand, making him look at them suspiciously. They were models of good behavior today, meaning they perched on their usual bench and chattered at him instead of trying to beg bananas, poop on the suit, or generally be their usual nuisance selves.

"I hope you're not getting ready to swarm me, birds, because you'll regret it if you do," said Sky, grabbing the broom and pointing it at them threateningly.

SQUARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRK, Eddie replied.

Sky shrugged. "Whatever you say, bird." He settled in to clean the equipment before firing it up for the day. He'd brought along his radio, plugged it in, and was listening at a soft volume, subconsciously humming along with the song.

Unfortunately, he didn't realize it was "I Touch Myself".

Bluth's is open!

[SP until around 5 PM EST. Darn needing to work for a living.]

Liir came in exactly on time by his standards (by which is meant just a little early so that he had time to dust off the shelves, straighten up the books, and set up the tea and cookies before the store was actually to open) and had the doors open as the clock ticked to 10:00.

He then proceeded to grab a certain book from the bin at the back and, keeping it carefully out of sight of everyone, started to read.

Giles opened the shop, got himself a cup of tea and settled in to do paperwork.

He made a couple of phone calls back to Sunnydale to make sure the payments had gone through and that the florists hadn't been taken over by demons or vampires or other things that tended to happen on a Hellmouth. He couldn't quite bring himself to actually attend Xander and Anya's wedding, but he could at least make sure this one part of it went smoothly.

The Magic Box was open.

Town hall, Friday

D'Argo had spent a long time this morning listening to his secretary rattle off all the things that had to be ready before summer. And then she had to explain that more people showed up in the summer. And then they had to go through the first thing again because he was actually understanding what she was talking about now with that little bit of explanation.

So for the rest of the day, this was D'Argo trying to figure out logistics, and deciding he'd like captaining Moya better.

Lacey had spent the past five days of her 'vacation,' and she was getting very close to actually doing air quotes every time she so much as thought the word, making fruitless phone calls to the Dog River Howler office and to Portalocity. The Howler phone just rang and rang (which was not at all unusual, actually), and Portalocity kept firmly denying that there was any kind of return trip on her itinerary.

She'd ended up making serious inroads in the mini-bar's stock.

She'd finally ventured out this morning, though, and just happened to stop in at what looked like a diner, and from the way the staff was frantically cleaning up, it didn't look like it was being run very well. And Lacey Burrows was not above critiquing someone else's work to feel better about herself.

What she hadn't been expecting was to find the organizational standards of the place so far below what she considered acceptable that she ended up just straightening things out. (Which was dumb, because she always did this sort of thing.)

Lacey didn't hear the staff muttering about how the boss hadn't shown up, but they seemed to have no problem whatsoever with her barging in and taking charge, and that was a nice change from Dog River. Well, it was certainly a welcome distraction from the endless round of unanswered phone calls, and the sick thing was? It was atually fun.

Luke's is open, apparently . . . who knew?

Jen's Friday was uneventful enough that after a morning run and workout, she headed into work early and her player wishes today had been that uneventful, wah and did not at all ponder looking up unlimited-lives cheat codes for Donkey Madness just to see what happened when Tom started playing next time.

Really.

Miraculously, she was not making long-distance calls to California today -- just using her portable computer to look up the latest news from Silver Hills, Washington.

The beach, morning

After a long run around the island, Isabel made a phone call, a quick stop at the Perk and then took a seat on the beach. The little bit of a chill that had been in the air when she first started out was gone she realized, and the temperature was actually comfortable. It made her realize how quickly summer was approaching.

And how little time was left.

When Chad wasn't behind the counter flipping through magazines, he and the kittens were all on a hunt to find broken shards of CDs around the store. It all started when Chad was just about blinded by a piece that was catching the light just right, and turned into an adventure from there.

Dale wasn't completely busy today, so he set aside some time this afternoon to go over complaints regarding reckless rickshaw cab driving.

Which took him all of five minutes so now he was reading the wikipedia entry for the Dalai Llama.

It wasn't Robin's normal evening, but that was fine. Not like she'd been up to anything particularly interesting tonight anyway.

And she didn't know what Barney had been teaching in his class today, but she felt an urge to wear her pink bustier top under her white, open cardigan. The weather was starting to warm up, and it seemed comfortable and appropriate.

[I could not help myself omg.]

The cafe was open...Fai had just forgotten to change the sign.

So the sign said closed, but the lights were on and at least one of the owners was sitting at one of the tables, drinking tea and doodling on a notepad. Fai was still trying to come up with menu ideas. At least the employee situation had been settled.
