. . . see, Lacey had had this whole idea to go out over the weekend and spend some time catching some rays on the beach in Bali Hai.

Which had, in and of itself, been a fantastic idea. Except for the part where she'd accidentally brought along a bottle of conditioner instead of sunscreen, so as a result there was a very forlorn-looking, very bright red Lacey shuffling painfully about the diner today.

Luke's is open, and OH MY GOD GIANT LOBSTER GIANT LOBSTER GI -- oh. That's just Lacey holding a pair of salad tongs in each hand.

Gunther was working again because the redhead was too distraught to work. He mumbled something to the sous chef about Mary and morning sickness, but didn't elaborate further.

And like any bit of completely untrue gossip, the news spread like wildfire through the NPC hotel staff.

It was a warm day out and Fraser actually dressed for the weather, eschewing flannel for short sleeves and jeans.

"Good morning," he said, nodding. "We're almost finished with park renovations. There will be a new project starting somewhat soon so keep an eye out for those. For today, just continue doing what we've been doing and, if you have any questions, I will be around."

With that, Fraser smiled at the group before walking off to tinker with some things.

While the tidbit of information that Charlotte had received yesterday had been one that had gotten inside her brain, settled, and hatched flailing other thoughts, there was a lot to be said about the timing of the revelations about her property. It worked out rather nicely that the pieces were shipped out this morning, thus leaving the space relatively empty, and making it much easier for Charlotte, armed with a bucket of bleach water, several scrub brushes, and a heavy duty pair of rubber gloves, to start disinfecting the entire place. True, most of it was probably safe from her prior gutting of the building to make for the gallery, but one could never be too precautions on these matters! She'd started yesterday evening on the apartment, worked all through the night, and had now worked to the empty gallery, scrubbing and carefully cleaning away.

That had been yet another reasonably uneventful weekend. Cable had taken up counting them, just in case there was some kind of a pattern to the disturbances.

Right now, though, he had no concern for disturbances. He had a baby on one arm, and a piece of machinery in the other, attached to his metal arm by wire. The desk was covered in equal parts plush animals and electronics, and really, as far as working days went, this really could be worse.

Interspersed occasionally in the steady stream of a heavy metal mix that Chad was playing at the store today was something that didn't quite fit. It was definitely a jump from the metal, being bright and fast and chipper and in Japanese. Chad couldn't help it; the conversation with Lana yesterday had him reliving his favourite show a little, so the bright J-Pop opening theme to Carnivorous Kingdom interrupted the Anthrax and Sabbath and Pantera every so often.

No, Chad had not been quietly singing along to it under his breath, either. At least, that's what he'd tell you if anyone asked.

Sokka was dismayed at having missed the weetiny albino monkeys, which was why he tried to convince Apu to act out the part. Apu was definitely NOT going for it.

But, surprisingly, Liz was. So there was a small -- but not weetiny -- robot dog swinging from shelf to shelf through the store and barking loudly.

Bob the SquishyBot rolled her eyes at that and refused to dispense any slushy goodness for Sokka.

Alex opened up the Magic Box right after her two workshops and though she hadn't paid much attention to him before, she had to admit, Jackie Chan was pretty funny.

That might be why she's currently looking up more of his movies. Early ones, though. She just might buy a couple, too.

The Magic Box is open!

When Jolee came down to the bar, he saw Tino looking through a stripper pole catalog.

"No," he said.

Tino gave a pleading look.

"You don't want a stripper pole in the bar," Jolee said, waving his hand.

Tino threw the catalog in the garbage, having suddenly realized that he didn't want a stripper pole in the bar.

"And if one did go up, only the bass player's girlfriend would be allowed to use it. If you're going to mess with my bar, you're going to suffer for it," Jolee said.

[OOC: Back and actually conscious. Woo!]

Alice looked around, taking in the scenery -- bowling alley, pool tables, other people milling around and drinking bottles of what appeared to be beer.

"And you're quite certain it's acceptable for women to play billiards?" she asked her big sibling. Probably not for the first time.

Alice was still very, very Victorian.
