Of all the days for Jen to get all formal for going in to work, today had been a really lousy choice, as she stalked into the diner wearing a murderous glare and a white one-piece uniform that had just been producing plentiful purple puddles of precipitation on the Pizza Planet porch. (Okay, so it wasn't a porch per se, but work with the alliteration here, will you?)

"It's not my color!" she snarled at the snickering kitchen staff on her stompy way toward the bathroom, and an attempt to scrub the purple streaks off her clothes. It was a mostly successful attempt, but when she called for a tactical retreat and emerged from the bathroom again, she was sporting a faint and haphazard lavender-on-white pattern.

Fabulous.

Ella should have been cheerful as she opened the diner. She'd had a very nice time with Dick the night before, and one of the songs they'd sung as a duet was still going through her head. The whole thing made her a little floaty.

However. There was rain as she walked to work. Purple rain. So not only had her hair frizzed up in a desperate attempt to escape its braid, but she was a bit, well, grape-tinged.

Grumbling, she changed into a spare uniform in the back of the restaurant before preparing for the day.

So it was a little wet. So what? Not like the rain that was slowly spattering Xander's construction hat until it looked like he'd been swimming in Grape Kool-Aid made for an unsafe wor-- oh.

Building a deck, probably safe. Playing in the purple mud of post-snowmonster ruins? Not so much.

So there was a tarp and there were drinks, snacks, lawn chairs and and a radio under it, and there were slickers for anybody who did want to go out and play in the rain as long as they didn't, you know touch the tools or get anywhere near the actual ruins.

There was also a wee portable aquarium on a table just outside the edge of the tarp, and a very happy purple frog taking a rainbath.

[OOC: Very wet community project, open to all!]

Savannah hadn't expected the purple rain as she made her way to work. So, her hair was now streaked purple. She was pretty sure she could wash it out later after work.

Currently, she was behind the counter looking at catalogues and writing down things to order for Sean's store.

[[OOC: Brain fried, so no OCD today]]
[identity profile] new-to-liirness.livejournal.com
Liir got to the store on time, but you couldn't say he was exactly conscious. It took him a couple of tries to get the key in the door, a couple more to get the door open and it was really only luck that left it open as he made his way in.

The tea was put out (he burned his hand a little as he did it, but only a little), the cookies were placed with them (he dropped a couple, had to pick them up, and then had to clean up the crumbs), and he finally made his way back to the counter in time to slump against it.

He'd do extra cleaning next week, he promised himself.

The Book Haven was open.

At some point Barney remembered he had to do that whole 'working' thing people talked about. A little wary of the purple rain falling from the sky, he hid out in the Manager's office.

If anyone desperately needed him, he might deign to talk to them.

Kaylee was totes totally on time. Really. Any illusions to the contrary were just that -- illusions.

[omg I suck. I go to work in about an hour and a half so SP after thaaaaaaaaat, and this is obviously pre-mindswap.]

Once upon a time, there was a Kaylee Frye who worked at Groovy Tunes. Chad remembered her. But this was different, because this was not only a different Kaylee Frye, but it was also Chad, but there was still a full-circle sort of feeling to it.

And that totally made sense, really. It did in Chad's head, anyway, which was currently in the skull of a much smaller and arguably cuter person.

It was interesting, coming in to open the store after the mind-swap. He actually had to carry Prince Oscar Pedro (who didn't care who was carrying him, as long as they pet him, it seemed) and once he got there and tried to do some things, he found himself remarking, in his temporary adorable girly voice, "....I can't reach!"

Chad settled behind the counter, listening to music, because he wanted to know if music sounded different when you were in a different body, but he didn't plan on staying the whole way through til midnight. He figured being in a different body was good reason to skip work for that party.

Today's Mix: New Mix

Groovy Tunes is open!

[[ and obviously post-mindswap, even though it's still being played, zomg ]]

Okay, Macalania had crystal blue trees, but that wasn't nearly as awesome as walking to work in purple rain. Big, fat drops of it. So cool.

She stopped to take a few pictures on her cellphone, because Yunie had to see this. So, so awesome.

The Wellspring Arms and Meditation Center was open. And bouncing about the purple rain.

Grumpy Old Boss wanted Donut to work on Friday. Donut was afraid of Grumpy Old Boss. So here Donut was, working on a Friday.
