Millie was singing cheerfully as she opened the store and set out pastries and coffee for customers.

She'd quite enjoyed the three minute dates last weekend and was feeling better about herself than she had in some time.

Some days, Lucas hated his job. For example today when he spent the first hour at work cleaning up a fluke oil spill on the racetrack.

He leaned heavily on the counter afterwords, covered in grime from slipping in the mess and failing to have brought a change of clothes for himself.

Oil had a distinct smell. And so did Lucas today.

Wonders of the World Mini Golf and Go Karts was open for business. And for Professor Petrelli's class.

Apu was on his own at Turtle and Canary today. Something he was quite happy about really.

Because really there's only so much Jamie Madrox one person could take.

When Hoshi slipped into the hotel's kitchen to grab something from the fridge, she was disturbed to see Gunther filling shampoo and conditioner bottles with used cooking oil. When Hoshi pointed out that the cooking oil could be recycled, Gunther yelled at her in German.

Well, he couldn't do that to Hoshi, so she yelled back at him in Russian, and when she started yelling, Porthos came running from the lobby to protect his mistress. Gunther dropped his cooking oil and ran, with Porthos barking and chasing after him. After that, she helped the sous chef clean up Gunther's mess, and he let her stay to help cook lunch.

Gabriel sat on one of the roof beams, playing the trumpet. Cat was playing with a dead mouse. The church was open.

When you went out for a run every day around the same island, it was hard not to notice that streets suddenly went on a lot longer than they had a few days ago, and entire blocks in a completely different architectural style existed where they hadn't before.

Jen, who actually did remember how to be a good police officer most of the time, couldn't let that phenomenon go unexplored, of course, so she'd turned that morning run into a preliminary reconnaissance mission. Of sorts.

It was when she got to the port and realized that the island . . . had an empty warehouse district now. If Jen knew one thing for sure about the history of her world, it was that empty warehouse districts were a magnet for trouble. Trouble of the kind that had already affected Fandom once, and it hadn't even had a warehouse district then. Really, it was a tried and true trouble formula.

Which was why, after a run that ended up going at a much quicker pace than it usually did, Jen was back down in the new port district in full uniform with her visual scanners on, making a deliberate circuit of the streets. Just in case. You never knew.

Sure, there was the whole detail about how she didn't have a Zord any more, but she'd make that part up if it came to it.

[OOC: Because come on, like I could leave that one alone? Totally open, though SP-ish until I get home from work.]

Savannah still wasn't feeling perfect, but she decided to wander into work anyway.

After opening the store, she set herself up behind the counter with a book on motorcycle mechanics.

...

Okay, there was a magazine hiding behind that textbook.

After getting both RC planes tuned up, Murdock ducked out of his office a wee bit early and headed down to the park.

He picked an open spot where no trees were immediately in the way and started one of the planes up. It was a bit of bumpy take-off, but soon the small plane was airborne.

Houston had decided to try to chase the plane as it taxied across the ground, then sat staring up at it in bewilderment once it left him far below.

Murdock just grinned and laughed at the dog, then went back to keeping an eye on the small craft.

(very open! yes, he'll let you play with his toys, too!)

Robin happily bounced into Caritas, gleefully taking her spot behind the bar.

To be honest, she'd kind of missed her job last week. Amidst all the being-a-dog-ness, anyway.

Which was why she was merrily working her way through some Scotch. For some reason, Tino didn't seem as happy to have her back. Weird.

He needed to get back to the apartment. Elphaba had expressly told him not to follow her (and for good reason, he now knew) and she would be furious (well, more furious than usual) if she found out that he had.

...when he turned the knob of the door and stepped through the frame, he was greeted by cheery blond woman wielding an ice cream scoop.

There were so many things wrong with this scenario that Fiyero was very certain that he must have been hallucinating it.

Cue one very tattooed man re-opening and backing out of the door while still facing the counter and employee.

A moment later, the door was pushed open again and Fiyero walked in to find the same woman. She was now trying to narrowly restrain her giggles, however. Fiyero frowned, moving to the counter to peer over the edge. Perhaps this was some very elaborate and over-orchestrated prank to teach him a lesson for disobeying Elphaba's orders -- she'd replaced her flat with a treats parlour.

...right, that seemed very likely.

"Uh," he managed with all the eloquence of a Prince taken completely off-guard, "you aren't secretly green, are you?"
