It was the last day of the community project. The NPC Construction crew were all hugging and saying their goodbyes like they weren't going to see each other the following Monday at work. Fraser let them be.

"Good morning," he greeted. "Today is our final day here. We're just going to be touching things up in the interior of the building today. It's light work so if you finish, do feel free to leave early. I and, I'm sure, Mr. Harris, thank you for your time and dedicate to the project this summer. You've all been wonderful."

He gave them all a smile, glanced one last time at the hugging construction crew before waving them all to work.

Jen was shaking her head ruefully as she straightened up tables and chairs and got Pizza Planet ready to open today; she'd discovered that an unfortunate side effect of the new warehouse district was that it gave her insomnia . . . and made her miss Bridge and Z more. Not to discount Alex, who'd had about as much training as they had, but Wes was years away from what he'd be. (Which was not, Jen added to herself, to say that he wasn't still cute. Because guh. Both of them, really, guh, and hello, shutting that train of thought down before it got too distracting and pizza ended up burned or worse.) And she didn't really know Andros well enough to have a sense of what he was capable of. It was just that -- okay, she just missed Bridge and Z.

She would've loved to have Circuit around, too, to help her keep an eye on those bothersome empty warehouses while she was at work. You never quite realized how much you missed one talkative blue robot owl until he wasn't around any more.

Smiling more often than he did usually, Liir made his way to the store relatively early. He slipped in, he did his usual once over of straightening the books and dusting the shelves and since he had the time, he even did a quick sweep as well. The tea and cookies were put out, along with a pitcher of lemonade and everything looked very well for a book shop by the time he took up his book and settled at the counter.

The Book Haven was open.

[all other threads VERY much before Fiyero's hi dad OMG]

As per usual for Friday (stop laughing), Jenny arrived on time to Pixie Dust and tidied up the store a bit, adjusted the mannequins' clothes to be a bit more mannequin-slutty since she figured that would sell better, and then camped out behind the counter with a pack of cigarettes.

Workshops were done for the summer and life was good.

Pixie Dust was open.

Barney was in the manager's office as usual today. The difference was he'd been up late the previous night and was taking a little nap at Wolverine's desk.

If anyone asked, he was practicing his yoga breathing and passed out from too much loser in his bloodstream.

[I so thought it was still Thursday for some reason.]

In a rare burst of productivity not pertaining to machines, Kaylee was poring over books. Cookbooks, actually. She didn't know too many recipes from this time, though really, in 500 years, nothing much had changed, and even if some of the words were hard, she was determined to familiarize herself with them.

She'd be delighted to help anyone who needed something fixed, though.

[I suck and the only reason I even remembered the post was because I saw [livejournal.com profile] suit_of_awesome's OOC note and remembered that it is, in fact, Friday. I'll be home from work at a semi-reasonable time though, hopefully, so the SP shouldn't be too awful!]

It was River's last day at work. As a present for Mary she had brought a box with her, filled with the remaning reaver knives that she and Buffy had collected on Miranda. They had been used as wall decorations in her dorm room for a long time now. They might look good on a wall in the lobby.

Arranging the knives on the wall behind the reception desk, River hummed to herself.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!

The church hadn't been this clean in a long time. Cat approved, walking around the place like she owned it and purred. Gabriel lay on the altar reading the Bible, and laughing to himself.

[The church is open]

Jolee wasn't sure where the zombies got white jumpsuits and sunglasses, or why they were all dancing around the stage, swinging their hips wildly, occasionally sending a hip bone into the lounge, but he had a feeling the answer to both questions was "Tino." He was choosing not to question Tino about it, though, because then he'd feel the need to ask the follow-up question of "Why?" and he was fairly certain he didn't want to know the answer to that one.

[OOC: Please mod Tino as I'll be heading down to a baseball game shortly. White Sox vs Rays. Two first place teams duking it out. (Go Rays!) And... it's Elvis night. Uh huh.]

Rikku totally wasn't late as she bounced in to set up for her shift at the Wellspring Arms and Meditation Center. Much. Really.

Anyway, it was open and that was what mattered, right?

Jaina needed to relax. John had decided it was his job to make relaxation happen since she seemed much more interested in things like work, work, and working out. Not that those things were bad, they simply weren't relaxing.

What was relaxing? Well, obviously hot water was relaxing. Which explained why John and Jaina were at The Onsen on a Friday evening. Granted, he'd nearly had to drag her from the cabin and her comm, but they'd made it to The Onsen without a scuffle.

Whether things would stay that way was completely up to her.

[John's here for that really short chick, but the Onsen is open]
