Mary made the last-minute decision to go downstairs and actually work today. Gunther had taken the day off, so Mary was lounging in her sweats, reading a magazine at the front desk. The presidential suite would be a bit more comfy, but you never knew when someone would need a hotel room or a job.

The "Now Hiring!" sign was out in place of the specials.

[OCD free, and SP until this evening.]

Oh, sure, it had all started out innocently enough, with Lacey feeling awfully proud of her cute new socks as she left her apartment this morning. They went so well with her skirt and those new shoes, all of which made her feel like a really snappy dresser -- more so than usual, of course.

That had been before the fuzzy round things had swarmed her, apparently intent on eating her ankles.

. . . poor socks. She hadn't even gotten the chance to show them off to anyone.

Today's Specials
Square Pancakes
Burgers with Square Patties
Banana Muffins Bread

Luke's is open, and apparently in the war on all things round, this right here is where the battle lines are drawn today.

[OOC: OCD is up -- may be in and out and slow today due to family stuff. Joy.]

Alex was relieved to be back in Fandom. Sure, she'd treasured the time she got to spend with her family during the last half of summer (not that she was telling them that!), but she'd missed this place. A lot.

Opening up the Magic Box, Alex did a thorough sweep of the store, making sure things were in their place. It had been a while since she'd opened the store and she wanted to familiarize herself with anything new that might have come in.

The Magic Box is open!

Judging by the visit yesterday, Fandom now contained one God-fearing inhabitant. Gabriel found that amusing. He didn't let that show, however, as it might interfere with his staring contest with Cat.

[The church is open]

Ender was busy on his laptop, as he inevitably was. He was exploring the internet, trying to find some connections, focusing on news that seemed as ancient as the quality of the image. It was an exasperating job-- he couldn't find what he was looking for - but at least he was learning something.

[ open! ]

Seregil arrived on time and after setting out the usual drinks and snacks for potential customers, browsed through the romance section, picking out a few new books to take home to Bob. One had to keep one's roommate's skull in reading material.

The Book Haven was open.

[ooc: Seregil has class period five so the store will be closed during that time, but he'll be there before and after]

Chad really didn't know what to think about the fuzzy little balls that were rolling around Fandom; they were a bit different, but, at the same time, it wasn't anything too alarming. Plus, they seemed to keep Prince Oscar Pedro pretty busy (he could only imagine what Teddy was going through with Sir Galliano right now), so he was cool. Just so long as they didn't mess with the "Now Hiring; please see Manager Chad for details" sign in the window, anyway.

Today's mix: Fun Run One, which he played to make sure the balls didn't turn into other evil creatures.

Groovy Tunes is open!

The leader of the Zombie band and Tino were apparently having a disagreement over the volume of music the band played. The zombies wanted to crank the volume up to eleven but Tino was afraid that it would make all the glasses in the bar shatter.

No matter what Arashi tried he couldn't get them to calm down.

So he sent them both to time out and opened Caritas at a normal noise level.

Today was Labor Day, the day that those crazy Americans honored work by refusing to do any. It was a pretty cool concept, except for the fact that Sokka had to be AT WORK today. So, in honor of the day, he was attempting to teach Liz, the store's robot security dog, to operate the cash register. It wasn't going very well.

...And that was when the vicious circles attacked. Liz may have been no good at ringing up customers, but she was excellent at biting toothy furballs and tearing them to pieces. So, for that matter, was Sokka. (Only without the biting part.) Very shortly, the store had a pile of tiny little furballs whose teeth were too small to draw blood. At that size, they were kind of cute.

And so the sign Sokka had put up when he got in had to be altered.

LABOR DAY SALE!!!
10% off all time-saving devices!
Cute furballs for sale!!! 4 for a quarter!!!

Today's Squishy flavors: Red, Lemonade, Grape Judas

[Yes, I know this post is late. That's because this morning, I was five hours that-a-way (*points*).]
