Claire gnawed on a piece of flatbread as she set up a display of gift ideas on a counter near the front of the store, in something that might pass for an actual good mood. She'd be in L.A. and hanging out with Aunt Sarah and her artist friends the day after tomorrow. She'd miss Fandom, but that was still the coolest thing that she'd gotten to do in a while.

The radio in the store was tuned to the all-Christmas music station, and Claire alternately rolled her eyes at the hokiness of it and sang along under her breath. Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock...

The card that had been forwarded to Sarah wasn't anything special, as Christmas cards went. There was a little cartoon of an ice skating penguin on the outside, and inside under the inscription it was signed, Merry Christmas! Ellie, Devon and Chuck in Ellie's round handwriting. Chuck had added only P.S. I miss you.

So there was absolutely no reason for Sarah -- who hated Christmas anyhow -- to keep looking at it like some teenager with a crush. She knew Chuck had let Ellie send it as part of their cover; she was, as far as that went, a friendly recent ex who had moved back to Maryland, and Chuck's sister was the type to send cards to everyone.

Shaking her head at her own foolishness, she went to her office to throw the card out, then hesitated a second and stored it in a desk drawer instead. If anyone asked, and no one would, she'd say she kept it as possible evidence, that it was important for her to track even the slightest communication with the Intersect.

She kept telling herself that lie as she closed her office door and went to man the register.

The Android's Dungeon was open.

Millie was rather cheerful this morning. She rather enjoyed all of the holiday spirit and had saved a fair amount of eggnogg for sipping today!

Book Haven is open!

Even if talking to Amber last night hadn't made Cal feel a little better, he wouldn't have had much concentration for being maudlin today, anyway. He knew that he knew his part practically backwards and forwards, but he was still spending his time behind the counter and between customers going over his lines, going over blocking in his head and Don Sancho's gestures. He almost wished he could just fast-forward through the day and get to the damn thing, but, unfortunately, he couldn't, and so he was left to pacing and gesturing between burgers.

Or, really, pitas, since there seemed to be an inexhaustible supply of flat bread around, so Cal figured he might as well make that the special. And some fresh hummus.

Luke's is open!

The horses seemed in a fine mood today and Helen was enjoying being with them. If anyone was looking for her they'd find her in the stables.

Peyton was pondering over how to respond to her dad. He wasn't sure he'd be able to make it home in time for Christmas and wanted to know if she'd mind doing it later or if it was really important that they do it 'on the day'.

The music reflected her mood - thoughtful and a bit moody.

Groovy Tunes was open.

Tether and Wade had gotten to a point where they were... calmer. Which is why Cable led both of them down to the store in the morning. Two guard dogs were better than one, and so on.

Plus he was fairly sure he could count on Wade to distract any customers should it be necessary. Or not. However, he did make sure he had a pair of earmuffs lying on the desk when he sat down. Those howls could make a man's brain rattle.

Wellspring Arms was open.

The proliferation of flatbread at Turtle and Canary was keeping Jamie busy trying to keep the counters and shelves clear of the delicious stuff.

Eventually the main counter was stacked with so much flatbread it was bordering on ridiculous. So using a bit of ingenuity Jamie pulled out a couple of toaster ovens, opened some packets of mozzarella cheese and cans of tomato sauce and got busy.

Hoshi wasn't quite sure where all the flatbread came from, but it was everywhere. There was only one thing to do: whip up some spinach artichoke dip to go with it.

Katchoo actually looked less than grumpy today -- almost in a good mood, even. This was, quite possibly, because she'd gotten a shower this morning and was just that relieved to not be sticky any more. (Not to mention the bits of mud and twigs in her hair, because duck pond water was not the best thing to clean off with.)

Plus, there was flatbread lying around everywhere. Free breakfast? Score.

She was at her usual spot behind the counter, sketching as she nibbled on the flatbread.

Lindsay was rubbing her right eye in the hopes it would stop twitching soon. If she was smart she would have checked the caller id before she picked up the phone.

Now she was getting an earful from her friends back home via a conference call of doom.

"No, I haven't lost my mind. Okay? My dog turned into a human," Linz repeated. "No it wasn't a prank. And... Don't call me insane. It really did snow sugar. And- Oh come on! I- Wait! Hold on! I sent you pictures of the egg nog and everything yesterday! And there really is a pony in my house!"

Linz then yanked the phone away from her ear as all three of her friends began to talk to her at once. She then grabbed a piece of paper and began to crumple it up near the mouthpiece.

"What's that? Phone.... (*crumple-crumple*) breaking up. Talk to you later!"

She then turned off her cellphone and was about to place it on her desk only to discover the spot was covered with a slice of flatbread.

She glared at it for a moment before the picked it up and started to eat.

"At least I won't go hungry in this place," she grumbled to herself.

Rusty was finally getting around to decorating the lobby of the building. He hung stockings with the names of each of his tennents and put a small tree in one corner.

He also filled a crockpot with mulled apple cider so people could help themselves.

Additionally, there were signs hanging up announcing the holiday get together he was hosting on Saturday evening. All of the tennents were invited and welcome to bring guests.

[ocd free! I meant to post about Rusty's party a week ago and kind of flaked, sorry! It will be open to all because he's not gonna know or care if people crash.]

There was flatbread in the air, as Sokka waited for Deadpool to arrive.

...No, really, there was flatbread actually in the air. Sokka didn't have much trouble throwing the bread so that it circled the room a few times before landing, so he was chucking pieces into the air and slicing at them with his practice sword.

If he'd had an actual sword, they would have been neatly halved and he would have felt cooler. As it was, they just got batted out of the air and thunked ungainly into the floor. Still, that meant he could pick them up and throw them again.

[For one, but the gym is open like a public building or room designed and equipped for indoor sports, exercise, or physical education.]

There was flatbread all over his stage, all over his booth, all over--

"Why don't I have stage hands? Why? I'm auditioning stage hands next production. Dear Lord, what the hell is wrong with this place?!"

That said, the show must go on.

Not that Eliza was one to turn down free food, but... flatbread? Really? She much preferred the chocolates. Especially since the chocolates hadn't covered every blooming (not literally) inch of counter and table space in her blooming (literally) shop.

Thus, today found her a little perplexed as she walked about the shop collecting them all on a plate that rapidly became a Leaning Tower of Bread.

Since the bread-collection took up most of her attention, the sign in the window was the one from last week, and the E over the door was made of a broken-up peppermint stick, to match.

The sign in the window read:
 C  o  v  e  n  t   G  a  r  d  e  n   F  l  o  w  E  r  s

Eliza Doolittle, prop.
Fresh flowers from nosegays to bouquets!

Robin had finally gotten over that stupid cold. As a result, she was back in the bar and at full Tino-annoying force.
