The Gig, Sunday

Judging from the way they'd practically bolted into the paddock, the horses had apparently eaten far too many Pop Tarts yesterday and were still enjoying the sugar high.

Firekeeper just rolled her eyes and settled in to her usual spot leaning against the fence as Blind Seer ran off to chase them. The new horses were conspicuously absent, being still not convinced that the wolves meant no harm.

Ghanima had been there for a few hours before club started to work out on the bags, and was now the image of serene composure as she watched people trickle in. "Good evening," she called out cheerfully. "You're here to work on your scrapping. We're here to oblige you. Isn't it nice how that works?"

Tyler's body was tight. He wasn't pulling off pep today. "I know some of you have heard about a conflict last week," he said. "If you haven't, ask the person next to you. They could probably make up something more entertaining. If you have, and you have questions about what happened, ask me." He paced a few steps, rubbing his lips. "We have a list of rules. They're posted right over there. But really it comes down to: Don't be a jerk, and be willing to lose. That's all we ask." He looked into the crowd. "I'm trusting you to understand that."

"Part of fight club is about trust," Ghanima continued calmly. "Trust in yourself and your partner, and check your ego at the door."

"Now, you and you. You. With her. Leto if you're here, oblige Mr. Durden." She turned to Tyler with an impish grin. "Want to pick the last two?"

"New guy," Tyler said, gesturing to Jim Kirk. "And you. Don't break him in half. Leto, I'll be on the mat."

Oh, Sunday. That magical day when Zack did that thing that was supposed to be called working.

But really, it wasn't working so much as it was schmoozing with the customers and keeping the dishes from scaring people off by virtue of being large, singing, dancing dishes. And he was possibly also getting paid to put up with the teasing, too.

They'd asked him where he had been last week. Zack, being Zack, answered honestly that he'd been a little preoccupied, being a dog and all. And then they somehow managed to weasel out of him that he had a date waiting on raincheck until Turtle was feeling up to it. This was met with a flurry of suggestions for making her feel better now.

Most of those suggestions involved collars and leashes.

Today's Specials:
Succulent Roast Chicken
Grey Stuff
Pop Tarts à la Mode

If anyone needed Zack, today was going to be another blushing-and-hiding day.

Cafe Fina is open!

Irulan had a difficult time reaching her shop. It was raining, in typical Fandom fashion, some sort of sweet bread. Fortunately, among her collection was a headpiece made of hard plastic. In short, it was a hard hat.

That gave Irulan an idea.

Hard Hats for Sale!

The Imperial Brim is open.

Ben was whistling while he worked today. He had some Pop Tarts that he handwavily collected yesterday, he had a store that was doing decent business, he had a new employee application that he was looking over, and he had a new lease on life. All in all, this was one of those times where Ben's luck had swung dramatically to the plus side and he was going to enjoy it while it lasted.

[OOC: Heading out shortly for some errands. SP likely through the early afternoon. And let's go OCD-free today!]

Kyle got to the HQ and settled in for his first day of work.

A large part of him was wondering what he had gotten himself into. Another part of him argued that he needed the money, and it's not like the bosses were evil. The first part wondered if he was sure about that. The second part hesitated before saying yes.

All of that was metaphoric, of course. Mostly Kyle was just sitting at his desk, entertaining himself by spinning his lightsaber hilt above his head.

[OOC: Same as before, errands coming up!]

Biff was behind the counter, as usual, with his head down on it, which wasn't quite usual.

He'd tell you it was a new yoga pose.

It wasn't.

Wellspring Arms is open and sleepy!

Eric had his script with him today, and was going over the lines he'd studied the day before with Jack. Still, he'd be more than happy to take a break and help you with your shopping needs.

[Off in a bit for a family do, but I'll be around all evening afterwards!]

Robin was still nursing something of a Pop Tart hangover as she opened the bar tonight. She'd also glared daggers at Tino when he suggested her ass had seen smaller days.

And now she was trying to see if she could find the measuring tape she'd once located here. No reason.

[posted early 'cause I'm going to be around sporadically tonight omg]

Her arms burned with the effort of handling an unfamiliar weapon and sweat beaded down her spine as she spun slashing up and then to the side with the spear before taking a step back and beginning another movement.

Under her feet, the water rippled as she stepped, almost danced across it, the spear her partner and the twilight growing around her. As practise went, this killed two birds with one stone. How long could she keep moving on water and giving her arms a work out?

Ino didn't know. She was planning to find out. A low cut, slicing at the water with the gleaming blade of her spear, and Ino narrowed her eyes in concentration as she swung the blade up, straining with the weight of it.

This way, she didn't have to think about anything but the water under her feet, the spear in her hands, and the effort it took to manage two things at once.

That was, after all, the point.

[Open if you wish!]

The orders G'Kar had placed last week had arrived and he was busily checking things off against the inventory lists.

Apu was busy putting everything away or stocking the shelves if needed. He was actually a bit impatient as G'Kar seemed to be taking his sweet time checking his lists off.

Of course, that may because he would occasionaly stop and write in his journal instead. G'Kar's thinking was, why rush? It would get done when it got done.

Apu didn't seem to agree.
