Ellie arrived early, took care of the horses, and then let them out into the paddock for some exercise. While they did that, she took her cellphone out and called home just to see how everyone was doing. She talked to her brother for awhile and even made plans to go home for a weekend. She had to make sure the house as still standing, after all.

Once she hung up, she went back over to the horses to offer them some apple slices.

The Gig was open.

Charlotte and Dale's wedding over the weekend had given Mary a nice break from contemplating her midget guest problems. But now it was back to work. Today, Mary had a plan. She was dressed in a maid's uniform and pushing a housekeeping cart. While Gunther watched the front desk for her, Mary headed up to the second floor, knocked once on the lead midget's door, and then unlocked it to find... an exhausted little person fast asleep in the bed, alone. There was no sign of any illegal activities going on. Embarrassed, Mary fled from the room.

It was fucking hot out. Sure, the heat didn't really affect Loki but he could tell it was fucking hot outside. Of course, that wasn't going to stop him from enjoying the sun so there he was, splashing around in the pool and not having to worry about a fucking sunburn.

He was contemplating putting in a slide and maybe a fucking diving board as he swam because a pool could always use more things to contribute to the fun. For now, Loki could amuse himself with just the swimming.

Hinata, accompanied by Yei quite naturally, slipped into work as per their usual routine. Books, at least, were quiet. All their wonders contained on paper and in the imaginations of their readers.

Running her fingers down the spines of them as she walked amongst the shelves to make certain that they were in order, she thought about many things.

Ino got to work and blinked at the sign. Who was this... Vida person?

What had happened to Eliza-san?

The mystery gave her something to mull over while she opened up the store, saying hi to the plants, and thought about class. What? It was the easiest thing to focus on and plants were... soothing. It was a win-win situation for the moment.

After second period, she was back, and rather a great deal more glittery. Also sulking about lack of fire that had ignited the boats, but whatever. At least the glitter was pretty.

Darren was starting to think that he was in hell. Certainly, he had to be in at least purgatory; he hadn't been able to find a decent wine shop or charming little cafe all week and now he was going to have to face his 'actors'. Pathetic. There were only two of them that he thought had any potential at all and yet, he was going to have to struggle through an entire rehearsal with the rest of these artless philistines.

God help him, he was never going to forgive Geoffrey for this. Mad or not.

"All right, people, all right, let's get started before we waste any time. I want to share my vision with you, right now, so that perhaps those of you who were lagging behind last week can attempt to understand my genius."

He then went on to describe, quite enthusiastically, a version of The Scottish Play done in the style of a rock opera, and it seemed very much as if he was going to place poor Himura in a costume that would have made Ziggy Stardust weep.

...oh, this was not going to be a good day, was it?

It was hot outside. Very hot. Even the troopers with their climate controlled armor were complaining about the heat.

Gibbs on the other hand was at his desk, wearing a suit and drinking hot coffee as if it were a nice spring day.

Sometimes you really have to despise people like that.

The causeway, for all intensive purposes, looked like it normally did on any other morning. Until the bubbling started off one side.

It slowly grew into what could only be described as a fount, the plume of water edging closer to the causeway itself- and then, a very tall skeleton, dressed in a black pinstriped suit, stepped out. Immediately the water returned to normal.

"I never realized that the term 'watery grave' was literal," the skeleton said aloud, "did you, Zero? It's lucky that it was or I might have been stuck..." He looked around. "Zero?" Defying medical science, his bony jaw curved downward into a frown. "Sally? Doctor Finkelstein?"

He looked down the causeway, and then peered up at Fandom. "Where on earth am I?" he said, sounding confused... and yet, intrigued.

Adam opened up Android's Dungeon a little early, taking time to do a quick inventory check. He made sure the stacks were organized and the titles were displayed neatly; easy to spot on the shelves.

Finishing that, Adam settled behind the counter. He was thinking of going for a run on the beach after work. It might be nice.

"One Song
I have but one song
One song
Only for you.

One heart
Tenderly beating
Ever entreating
Constant and true.

One love
That has possessed me
One love
Thrilling me through.

One song
My heart keeps singing
Of one love
Only for you
."

The kitchen staff stared at Edward.

It was going to be another one of those days. Why? Because Edward continued to sing the same song, over and over and over again.

There was no menu today. A couple of the guys in the back could be heard sniffling. Look, the song gets you right in the heart if you listen to it often enough.

Fiona was having a relatively good day, so she neatened up the front office and watered the plant before she even sat down to work on her case. She hadn't had much to report of late, and a few of her ideas had ended up being dead ends, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to work on it.

...she was sort of hoping that someone came by to say hello, though.

For once while opening the store, Raven didn't avert her eyes as much as possible from the merchandise. This didn't mean she was suddenly comfortable in her surroundings, not at all. The majority of the items for sale did still baffle her -- and some of them even scared her -- but now she thought she understood just why one item came with an attached rabbit. The more you know....

She settled behind the counter and hoped the day went quickly so she could visit Chuck. And she totally wasn't eyeing some of the books for sale and wondering if she should flip through them. Strictly for educational purposes, of course.

Decadent Delights was open, and the empath was in a very good mood. Primarily because she was obsessing on one thing so that she could pretend the events of the past week had never happened, but it was a good mood!

Layla sat behind the counter with a plate full of Oreo cookies, a small carton of milk and the latest gossip magazine as she waited for customer to come in and buy stuff.

Or not buy stuff.

Layla was totally open to all of that.

Oz spent the first several minutes of his first day at work exploring. He made sure he knew where everything was, practiced with the register a bit, then put on a cd of Native American folk rock and settled back to see if anyone came in.

He was itching to try that sweat lodge out back next full moon.

Kyle hadn't actually fought anyone with his lightsaber since he killed Desann a few weeks ago. So he got to the gym a bit before Jaina arrived for their sparring session, just to shake off a little bit of rust.

The fact that his lightsaber was twirling fast enough that spectators might have trouble keeping track of the glowing blade probably said something about what "rust" was for Kyle. Kyle was happy with this.

[OOC: Kyle's here for Jaina, but the gym is open in general and Kyle is around to talk to people before she shows up.]

In a fit of insomnia late last night, Katchoo had had the brilliant idea of going down to the computer lab for some idle web browsing.

That had turned out to be a spectacular idea, if by spectacular you meant 'astoundingly, shortsightedly moronic.' Some website she'd stumbled across had claimed to have the inside scoop on the so-called Big Six operation, dismissed by most people as paranoid conspiracy fantasy.

It had had just enough truth mixed into it to make the completely made up crap infuriating, and Katchoo had ended up spending the rest of the night wandering along a quiet stretch of the beach, smoking and kicking sand and ranting to herself.

Which was why she was half draped over the counter this morning, nine tenths asleep and doodling a single long, meandering, shaky line on one page of her sketchbook.

Clocky, for its part, was still staying out of kicking range.

[OOC: This post is not at all inspired by the reason I'm posting it at this hour. Really. Um. OCD has gone the way of my ability to sleep.]
