The staff had decided to put on an elaborate musical number today, but it just left Lion-o a bit confused. So he stayed out of the way and just ate the slice of cake that the cheese grater brought him.

Mary had grown rather attached to the mocha-flavored fake sugar that Delinda had sent in the last care package from the Montecito. So when it ran out, she debated asking Turtle if she could special order it, but then Mary discovered that the fake sugar people had a website. They even had a special on the fake sugar for coffee -- buy one, get one half off, and there were so many flavors. It wasn't long before Mary had pointed and clicked and was pulling out her credit card.

That's when it finally hit her: she was about to order $50 of flavored fake sugar just to get a free travel mug. Mary put her credit card away and decided to run out to the Perk to get a real cup of coffee.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!

Despite having been hired over a month previously, today would be Spock's first day at his new job. He was certain he could perform his duties admirably. The shop was well above what he believed to be the technological norm for this time period, at least, so he felt a little more at home.

((LOOK AT THAT it's Tuesday and I didn't space out on this. A miracle!))

Jack had set up various backdrops in the studio portion, and was now trying to strike his fiercest pose for the camera. ...once he figures out how to set the timer so it's not taking a picture of him walking over there.

There was a box of cold pizza on the counter in front of Loki, covered in cheese and pepperoni and just waiting to be eaten for breakfast. Loki, however, was busy with an intense game of Tetris on the new phone he'd picked up a few days ago. As much as he complained about humanity, they had some awesome fucking gadgets.

Of course, once he realized that he was behaving like a human what with his happiness over his phone, he had to actually go flying to remind himself that he wasn't a fucking human, he was a fucking angel who was just acting human and he wasn't going to end up in sweatpants and a t-shirt, watching Saturday morning cartoons anytime soon.

Well, unless it was raining outside.

Irulan brewed tea before settling in behind the counter. She opened her Infernal Machine and proceeded the tedious paperwork running a shop entailed.

Imperial Brim is open!

For some reason, Didi was in a mood to clean today. She spent a big chunk of her shift dusting almost everything, mopping the floor, and even polishing Liz the security robot.

When the whole shop was shiny -- and Apu was slightly afraid he'd be out of a job -- she went back to the counter, put her feet up, and started paging through Captain Blood for lit class. It wasn't really her sort of story, but she could appreciate a good pirate yarn.

Turtle & Canary was open. Today's Squishy flavors: Blood Orange, Virgin Bloody Mary, Red.

If there was any one thing in the world that could pick Jonothon up out of a crabby mood, it was being literally surrounded by rows upon rows of CDs. And then there was that section over there for vinyl! Vinyl!

He was doing a very admirable job of not prancing as he pored over all of the different genres and bands, albums and singles and and and ooooh, there were DVDs over there with videos on them! Videos! MTV's great shortcoming as of late was being made up for here, and all was once again right in the world.

And all the while, some of the older Pearl Jam was blaring in the background at a volume that was possibly entirely too loud for a business in town, or, if you asked Jono, just barely loud enough for a music store.

Groovy Tunes was so open, yes.

[Just after come wee OCD is up, and we are open!]

Ellie was glad she had to work today so she could avoid the assembly. Certain things in her life were confusing enough. She'd much rather deal with the horses. Kally stuck her head over the fence, seeming to sense Ellie's thoughtfulness. Instinctively, she pet her, already feeling a little more at ease.

The Gig was open.

Raven was very cautious when she opened the store that afternoon, calling out to announce her presence just in case Aphrodite was entertaining. For some reason, the store seemed extra sparkly today.

Raven took her seat behind the counter, alternating between daydreaming and Deep Thoughts, rather than reading the book in front of her.

Decadent Delights was open.

Tim was reading a review of a comic book movie that had come out recently. He was doubting the claim by the reviewer that they'd gone in with an open mind. He thought they'd liklely gone in intending to hate the movie, given what a big fan of the original comic they said they were.

Plus reviewers were supposed to hate movies weren't they?

Oz was cooking. He'd found a Native American cook book on the shelves and after a short trip back to his van for supplies, he was trying out the recipe for fry bread. A mexican radio station was playing and about midway through one of the songs he realized he recognized the tune, though the words were in spanish.

"I want you, to want me." he began to sing along.

Rose was pretty much insanely smug after she got back to the gym from her little extra-curricular adventure.  Which didn't mean that the NPC employees were going to stop trying to bully her into taking the cardiofunk classes again.

She was pretty much convinced she was going to have to teach that stupid cardiofunk class for the rest of forever.

"How many of these cherries do you think I can eat?" Marshall asked Tino.

Tino just kept cleaning the bar and ignore Marshall completely.

"Oh, the whole jar? You're on!"

One day Marshall will work up the courage to just steal cherries without acting like someone dared him to do it.

[Sorry it's so late but I'm on, like, day five of a migraine]

Mina knew she should not indulge in coffee at a late hour, but it was a craving that she could satisfy and therefore did.

So there at a table she sat, idly reading a medical journal. She was growing weary of her nursing profession. Perhaps it would do her good to explore other possibilities, other professions. Something that involved less blood.

[ooc: Very open!]
