Firekeeper and Blind Seer were a little late to work today, after their adventure in the Preserve.

At least horses were forgiving creatures, not interested in holding any grudges about a little tardiness. And, okay, it helped that she had interesting gossip to share. Horses were total suckers for gossip.

[ooc: open, but I'm swamped with RL today so pings may be slow.]

Lulu's smile was bright as she flipped the sign on Cafe Fina's door from 'Closed' to 'Open'. The last few days had been a flurry of handwavy activity as downstairs got some touch-ups -- and the upstairs apartment was completely renovated. She'd not yet moved her stuff over from the hotel, but otherwise the place was ready for anyone interested to move in.

Taking a seat at the front counter, Lulu finished up the specials board, ready for the first customer at the new Cafe Fina.

Today's Specials:
Lunch Special
Grilled Chicken Panini with Spinach and Chèvre
On a black-olive, whole wheat ciabatta

Dinner Specials
Spicy Red Pepper Risotto

Tiramisu

[OOC: Off to work, will be back by 5PM Eastern.]

"I hope that you all aren't hungover or overtired from the dating event last night," Ghanima began cheerfully once everyone had assembled. "Because we're going to work you today."

Tyler glanced at her lazily. Was three-minute dates that big a deal with this crowd? The things he missed being all monogamous. He scratched his chin before speaking. "Right," he said. "And ... you with you, you with you, you with you ... Ghanima, other three?"

"You, with her. You two. And you and you," she continued, pointing people out. "Now go to it."

A lazy smile spread across Tyler's face, and he made a shoo'ing gesture before going off to find his own match.

[OOC: Internets, never leave me again! *clings* OCD coming up!]

Jack had no idea what to expect from his first day of office work, but he supposed that gave him more to explore. By midday Sunday, the mail was sorted, the plants watered, the papers on the desk filed with a rather terrifying degree of order, and Jack was trying to figure out how the computer programs worked.

It was perhaps inevitable that he'd end up exploring the Internet. A few clicks took him to a website about Blind Items, simultaneously horrified and appalled by the apparently lax state of American libel law.

He was sure he could justify it as work-related in some way.

[OOC: Come, bother the new legal assistant!]

It was time for a much needed girls' day out/spa day.

Joan arrived early and made arrangements for discounts on massages, mani/pedis and facials.

And then she settled in to watch the Puppy Bowl while she got her nails done.

[mostly for the girls who were invited though can be open to anyone]

Since it was almost Valentine's Day, Mulan sorted through more orders. This was after looking over the other notes. Of course, she had to add another one:

Keep an eye on the yellow roses. They might be jealous of the attention the reds one get and could have taken it out on the gerbera daisies.

Covent Garden Flowers

Vida Boheme, prop.
Fresh flowers from nosegays to bouquets!
Delivery available upon request.

[sorry for lateness; brain has been taken over by another paper, blah]

Biff was in an excellent mood thanks to the success he had at the Three Minute Dates last night.

It wasn't making him terribly productive at work, of course, but there wasn't much that would make Biff productive at work.

Wellspring Arms was open.

It was often claimed that the Super Bowl was the biggest night of sports on television, and Clark would normally agree. Except tonight, Tino had the remote and they were watching the Puppy Bowl.

"Come on, Tino!" Clark complained. "It's bad enough I don't get to play sports but you could at least let me eat wings and watch on TV like a normal person!"

Tino responded by stealing one of Clark's wings. It was going to be a long night.
