There was something soothing about the quiet of the store, Hinata was of the opinion, and that made it feel a bit like a safe haven every week when she came in. After all, the worst that had ever happened to her while working was an argument and that, really, was nothing at all to complain about. Setting out cookies and beginning the tea so that it would be nicely steeped by the time she was done opening the till and sweeping the floor, Hinata was smiling as she worked.

It was--nice, having a peaceful occupation.

Yei, as if in response to all that peace, was curled up in a weetiny ball on one of the chairs and looking blissfully asleep.

The music was playing this week, though Ino wasn't really singing along. She was cleaning, instead, to keep herself moving and busy and not having to pinch herself to keep from falling asleep. The problem with sleep, she thought, was the fact that while she'd fall asleep, she wouldn't stay asleep and that meant it wasn't worth it to fall asleep in the first place.

And she hated to think of how it would look if she woke up from a nightmare while working. That would be seriously not so brilliant.

Which meant--cleaning. With music on. And having actually broken down and having had coffee that morning. Which left her with an unpleasant jittery feeling that was nonetheless more awake than she'd been managing. Silly fluttered around her head like a small, feathered nursemaid and Ino found that that made her smile more than any other sort of distraction.

Ariel supposed she should be working at work, rather than shopping, but she needed something nice for her date on Friday, and, besides, it wasn't as if Tuesdays were really that busy anyway!

As a matter of fact, Ariel would love if some customers came in.

Then she could get their opinions!

But until then, it was trying to decide what might not only look cute on her but be able to survive through any potential Cheetos pizza mishaps.

After classes, Raven came into town to open up 'Dite's store, but her mind was completely elsewhere. She was exhausted from lack of sleep, and even in meditation she felt her father's presence seeking her out. She wouldn't be able to hide herself from him for much longer.

And she was afraid to admit to herself (let alone anyone else) how much the part of her that was her father's was actually enjoying the visions, deriving cruel delight from betraying her friends and making them suffer. The child of Azarath was sickened by the thought, but the demon blood that was slowly consuming her reveled in it. Trigon had corrupted her soul.

To stay in Fandom invited disaster, but it broke her heart to think of leaving the place that had been her home for almost two years now, more of a home than Azarath had ever been. She just had no idea of where she could go, and the thought of telling her friends -- Jono especially, and Karla, too -- made her choke up with tears. And they'd try to stop her from leaving, even at the cost of their own safety. She loved them too much to allow them take that risk for her. Hurting them in dreams was bad enough. Hurting them for real would be unbearable. She'd rather be dead.

So it was a very morose Raven behind the counter today, knowing she was rapidly running out of time and would have to make her decision. Soon.

George had handwavily switched days, so now, she was here on Tuesday. And it was Tuesday, so she was here.

Tuesday seemed to suck just as hard as Thursday had. George couldn't begin to tell you how amazed she was, by that.

Whatever. The store was open. Buy something. Or don't.

Mary was a little surprised to find a plate with a sandwich waiting for her at the front desk. Gunther usually wouldn't being food out without being asked unless he thought she was sick. Mary quickly finished the sandwich and went to check on something with the head housekeeper.

But when she returned, there was another sandwich. Mary ate this one, too, and put the plate aside while she checked the computer to see if there were any new reservations that needed her attention. When she looked away from the screen, there was another sandwich sitting on the plate.

Mary was full at that point, so she ended up giving the sandwich away to a guest who stopped at the guest and asked about room service. He thanked her, gave her back the empty plate, but when Mary went to take the plate back to the kitchen, there was another sandwich. Gunther was going to be pissed if this kept up long enough to keep people from paying for food.

Fairy or no fairy, Southern or not, no one should have to endure what weather broadcasters whimsically called a 'wintry mix,' Sookie decided. She was bundled up tight as she hurried into Luke's little flakes of ice clinging to her hair, and on impulse, she decided that soup was going to be all she served today. Good, warm, rib-sticking soup, because she was freaking cold.

Pool and whiskey. She could get used to it.

Unless she couldn't, actually. And Faith knew that even if she was having a good time playing nice and cleaning a store that smelled worst than Giles' apartment -and that wasn't easy to accomplish- she could not deny herself for too long. Just long enough, perhaps. Just until the next ball. Or the next one. Or next term, where she could take delight on holding another workshop. And then, perhaps, she would teach something for a change. It was scary how much she was looking up to that.

But for now it was another sip of her coffee, and another ball in the corner. Her skills were relatively back when she had left them, so now Faith felt pretty confident.

Yes, she could get used to it.

Until she couldn't, of course.

It was cold out, which pleased Robin as a Canadian, of course. But more importantly, it meant that she could leave the apartment wearing a coat, and Benton didn't have to see what she was wearing under it, and thus stop her.

Look, she really liked her little bustier-cardigan thingie, and it sucked how he (and everyone else) tried to talk her out of wearing it! So tonight, Robin was happily bradgian'd out behind the bar, despite the fact that Tino was actively cringing at her.

Cool, quiet graves said hi to Charlie as she wandered in.

On the back of her head, a song had started to work its way into her brain, earworning her to no end and wanting her to just set something on fire for the sake of just release some steam. Or fire, not steam, she wasn't a steamstarter, after all. "And I'm going crazy", said to the air, and perhaps she was stating the obvious now. When had she started to chew on her fingernail? Before she entered the graveyard, or after she had sat by one of those average creepy angel statues you found in graveyards? Or back at the time on her room, when walls started to close up on her? Did it matter?

"No it doesn't", said as she frowned. "But I can deal with this." No, she actually couldn't. She would break down. "No way." Yes way, and then something horrible would happen and she--

"Shhhh." She closed her eyes and tried not to mutter the song. Much.

She was going to stop fighting with the narrative her inner monologue now.

[Open Graveyard, sure. Beware the crazy girl though.]
