Reno was in the best damn mood ever today, thank you very much, even humming to himself as he set to work, poking a bit more at the trike that he'd gotten a decent start on. The faint throb of a headache behind his temples was negligible. The unfortunate state of his suit, a result of tripping over a greasebucket when it was still too early for proper brain function? Didn't matter at all.

Rude had gone out of his way to come to the island yesterday, and Reno was going to be in a damn good mood because of some totally platonic warm fuzzies, damn it.

Best. Partner. Ever.

Firekeeper knew it was going to be one of those days when she and Blind Seer opened the door to the barn and were immediately pelted with several oranges.

It didn't stop there, of course. Counting may not have been her forte, but Firekeeper was rather good when it came to measuring relative passage of time. So by the time the third quarter-hour was marked by the arrival of a shower of citrus fruit, she'd learned just when to duck.

"You have got to be kidding me."

Not only an apt description of Mitchell's week, but also a very good way of describing his reaction to hearing which film the other investors in the theater wanted him to run today. It would 'interest the teenagers', they'd said, and 'invite a new market back in' and something about not making any money recently and...

Mitchell hated everything. If everything in Bristol wasn't so horrible at the moment he'd be gone back home in a second. There was an infrastructure to set up, after all.

But no.

Instead he sighed, and stared up at the theater as the workers put up the sign for the day.

Some days, it was a little depressing, looking at his finances. Dolf was still only a third of the way into paying for a ticket home, and the money only seemed to get less and less as his expenses on the island also rose.

So for once, Dolf wasn't his energetic babbling self today, and while he might have devoted some time to looking up the latest speedskating results and poking around all the drama around Feyenoord's horrible results (the Ajax fan in him had to rejoice a little at that), for the most part... Sigh.

Teenage boy ennui.

There had already been a detention for some other kids yesterday, but the school had phoned in Kerrigan because there were a few more on the list that desperately needed disciplining. Sadly, she doubted that meant 'being allowed to take tissue samples' (going by one of the two people on the list) or even 'making them run laps outside and catch pneumonia for my entertainment'.

Which was a pity.

But something had left the community center a mess yesterday, which meant that Kerrigan would at least have the pleasure of watching them slave away. "I want you to clean the place out," she informed both children, "And if I hear either of you complain, I will be making you run laps around the building in t-shirts and shorts."

Let it not be said she couldn't creatively get around to the pneumonia bit.

When Ariel came in to work at the music shop today, she was really just glad that she didn't insist on listening to bands she'd probably never heard of before...

...actually, most bands she hadn't heard of, so it was time, she figured, to spend some time to get to know them! Alphabetically seemed a good method, but going from the beginning was too typical. She decided to start at the end and work her way back toward A, which meant that today, the music pumping through the sound system was ZZ Top.

You'll have to excuse her, though, if she kept going back and putting a certain one on repeat. Seriously. How could she not adore it? It was like it was practically made for her.
