The goddess of love was not used to being nervous. Worried, she could handle -- she'd been worried ever since she started taking an interest in the lives of mortals. She figured she had to; they certainly didn't worry enough about their own world.

But this wasn't worry. This was a case of the nerves. Aphrodite didn't know what Karla was going to say, and that made her go from place to place in the store, frowning at any little misplaced item, rearranging books on shelves, growling at misaligned boxes. Really, there was nothing wrong with the place, and even the dusting she was doing was busy work. Hercules watched her in amusement.

'Dite frowned as she picked up a tiny grey mouse toy. Would you please not leave your disgusting and chewed up toys out where customers can see them? )

"You are the weirdest cat ever."

She really shouldn't have been surprised.

(Expecting a Kaeleeran witch at some point, but open before and after. There is one bad word behind the lj-cut, so maybe NWS. The cat in this post bears no resemblance to any cat i know in real life. Ho hum.)

Cally was not sleeping at the counter this week. Oh no. She was instead throwing highliter pens at a gremlin who'd tiptoed in and sunk its wicked little teeth half an inch into her ankle before it finally realized she was wearing combat boots and all it was going to taste was leather and steel.

"And stay out!" accompanied a large green marker whooshing toward its big-eared head. "It took hours to get this stuff off my face last week!" Cally perhaps had just a little frustration left over from wondering where her weekend went.

It was a nice day, so Helen and the horses could be found outside. And perhaps even frolicking.

When Tara came into the Magic Box, she was only mildly surprised to see an old-fashioned black silk top hat sitting on the counter. It was a magic supply store; all kinds of odd things showed up from time to time. She frowned at the hat vaguely before she started reorganizing the display of crystals.

When the first rabbit appeared next to the hat ... well, that could have been a coincidence.

When she saw a second one, she started looking to see if Bobby had snuck into the store.

But when she caught the third one red-pawed as it crawled out of the hat ... well, that could donly be Fandom. She made a little rabbit playpen out of boxes and hoped Everything But the Monkey would accept a donation.

[OOC: Open Magic Box, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] icecoldfrost for the suggestion.]

Momoko had been all over town and the school today, hanging posters for her Teamwork class' team charity project/final. They'd made arrangements at the Community Center already and Momoko headed straight there to man the collection booth as soon as her Ethics class ended.

Hopefully lots of people would bring their old clothes, books, and things so that they would have a good sale and be able to buy lots of toys for the sick kids.

She looked at the giant version of the poster that she'd taped to the back of a chair near her pile of empty boxes. "Hmmm. Maybe I should have used glitter. To just, you know, totally attract the attention? It's kind of ordinary looking."

[OOC 1: Poster is in PDF, but have text: Have stuff you don't want? ["Thanks for the sweater!"] Can't take it home? ["This hasn't been invented yet!"] Just don't use it anymore? Bring it to us!! At the Community Center all day Thursday. Then come to our Charity Rummage Sale. This Saturday, in the Community Center! All proceeds will go to buying toys for kinds in hospitals!! Left-over stuff will also be donated to charity!! Organizers: Momoko Akatsutsumi, Effy Stonem, Triela]

[OOC 2: OPEN Post, yay! They're really collecting, so stop on by! Of course they can't actually have the rummage sale on Saturday, but they don't know that. Shh!]

When Bobby got to Luke's, he was yawny but well-showered and generally excited about the day ahead. When he got back from class, he was both covered in whipping cream and possibly even a bit of drool from a toothless zombie or two.

Don't worry. Bobby was not going to be touching your food today.

It was possible that Ben had overdone it on his plans for Tahiri's birthday, but vague guilt combined with the knowledge that this was her last birthday in Fandom (assuming time didn't start going backward, which around here wasn't entirely out of the realm of the possible), so he'd tried to include all of their favorite things (except for fighting off invasions): beach walks, eating ice cream...and finally, bowling.

"You don't even have to wear the ugly shoes tonight," Ben said, sounding extremely pleased with himself as he typed his name into the computer screen to keep track of their scores (he was apparently going by "Sparky"). "I told the guy over there that your feet were naturally slippery and he believed me."

[OOC: Ben is here for his daaaaaaaaaaaaaate. Fast Eddie's is open for everyone else's bowling/pool/video game needs.]

Under the predictable cover of darkness, something happened to the fair island of Fandom. Something nefarious and just a tiny bit nostalgic for some.

A flying castle moved across the ocean to set down deep within the preserve, safe from prying eyes and Goddamn plumbers. With their snazzy mustaches and overalls... Never mind that now. There was a mysterious castle now on the island. An event otherwise known as Thursday.

Look, at some point unpredictable became predictable.

Once the castle touched ground, green pipes seemed to simply sprout from the ground around it. From those pipes, all sorts of creatures spilled forth to explore the island in order to find the most important thing to the storyline: a princess.

At this point thunder would have rolled to show how evil they were, but the weather did not oblige.
