"What is this alcoholic beverage that you are pouring for me that you know I will not drink?" Apu-san had to ask, eying his unfortunate boss warily. "It does not look like your usual sinful liquid of imbibing."

"It's rum ♥!" Shunsui answered happily, knowing full well that Apu-san's refusal to drink meant that later, when he downed that second cup, he was doing so under the guise of not letting it go to waste. "I thought it best to be prepared, should any more sexy pirates decide to wash up on the island today ♥."

There was a bit of a pause, a moment of Apu deciding whether or not he really wanted to say anything, before he decided that yes, he did. "Do not tell me you are Captain Sparrow is not enough for you!"

And that would be a glare sent toward Apu, for just a second, before Shunsui took a slow drink of his rum, straight from the bottle. "Don't be surprised when you get a pay deduction on your next employee review, Apu."

"That would suggest that you would actually bother with an employee review, Mr. Kyōraku."

"Nonsense ♥! I review Jane-chan all the time ♥."

Apu-san rolled his eyes and realized he would have a more intelligent conversation with the cheese panda...Just another typical Thursday at Turtle & Canary. Or one, anyway, when Shunsui actually remembered to come in.

Today's Squishy flavours: Rum, Scurvy, Red

With graduation only days away, guests were beginning to arrive on the island today and Student Council, in accordance with tradition, had pulled out the blue and gold streamers and the inflatable gremlin wall decorations and was hosting the annual Graduation Mixer.

So Kennedy was off saving the world.

Again.

Probably they wouldn't give her a diploma if she didn't do it one more time, right? Tara wasn't going to worry. She was going to stay right here, and putter around the shop, and definitely not keep watching the door for any stray, curious 9-year-old girls attached to mildly terrifying fathers or Watchers.

... okay. Maybe there was some door-watching going on.

No class today meant that Bobby got to devote his full attention to his job at the diner. Totally unaware of the cooks' wishing he was distracted, Bobby spent the morning creating a large banner saying:

CONGRATULATIONS FANDOM HIGH CLASS OF 2011

and hanging it in the window. He spent the afternoon bugging the cooks to teach him how to make an omelet.

Mary had entrusted Gunther with hanging a banner in the lobby while she sorted out room keys. That was probably her first mistake. First, Gunther twisted the banner so that it couldn't be read at all. Then he hung it up backwards so that that the blank side faced the entrance. Finally, Mary sent Gunther back to the kitchen and had two bell boys take over. They managed to get it correct on the first try so the banner could easily be read.

Congratulations Graduates!

"I don't suppose you boys can cook, too?" asked Mary, making a note to give the bell boys pay raises at her next opportunity.

Class: over. Graduation: for other people. Cally: still trying to keep in the spirit of the thing, so the sign in the front window of Strokes of Genius read:

Congratulations, Fandom High Class of 2011!
25% off all items for graduates
And 10% off all blue or yellow items for anyone.
Today only!

If this shop actually still had an on-island owner, they would probably have cared. A faceless corporation somewhere in Connecticut? Not so much.

To some people at school, 73 degrees on an overcast day would be too cold sit out on the beach and watch the water. In Glacia, 73 degrees was considered downright balmy, and so Karla had gathered up her beach things and headed down to spend the afternoon. Preferably relaxing, especially after the craziness of the past few days.

And if she happened to have a cupcake tower along with her, filled with many different varieties of cupcake, well, it was her seventeenth birthday. A girl could be forgiven a bit of indulgence on her birthday, couldn't she?

[So open!]

There was a big sign in the window stating that "Book Make a Great Graduation Gift!" and Millie was ready to help anyone who might need one.

Helen was working dilligently in the stables, head down and quiet. A balled up letter was lying on the table by her backpack and being studiously ignored.

It was probably not a good sign that Tiny had to mention something about it for Chrono to realize that there was a group of students graduating this weekend and so there might be a slightly larger crowd coming in if there was to be any pre-grad partying.

"Come on," Chrono argued. "I'm a hermit demon residing in a church basement who no longer has any sense of time; how am I supposed to keep up with something like that? Besides...by slightly larger crowd, do you mean one person might actually come in?"

There was a point there, so the two just decided to part ways to their separate tasks, Chrono to the bar and Tiny to get to his bouncing.

Luke had shown up to the bar out of pure boredom and was displeased to see it was only the creepy guy behind the bar. Well Luke wasn't about to make nice with him, so he smoothly made his way behind the bar to make his own drinks and pretended Tino didn't exist. Tino didn't seem to mind.

There was graduation coming up, but that didn't apply to Sov and they didn't really know anyone who was graduating. Summer was approaching however, and it was getting increasingly hot. Too hot for someone used to a subarctic climate, actually. So Sov had brought a large bottle of one of those lovely brightly coloured fizzy drinks that made you burp. Also, they were rearranging the non-broken radios.
