Shunsui rarely needed a reason to celebrate or party, but it really was so convenient when things worked out that there was a reason to do so, anyway. Today, clearly, was no exception. He'd even switched out his usual straw hat for one of the sombreros he'd found littering the ground (especially knowing there were more to come), and had switched things up, pouring shots of tequila for everyone working today, knowing full well he was the only one of them (the pets and the SquishyBot included) that actually drank.

Well, Turtle did seem a little more open to the idea, and Canary wound up being quite fond of the worm.

And so it was Cinco de Mayo in Turtle & Canary! There might have even been some dancing whenever the mariachi band ducked in.

Today's Squishy Flavours: Tequilla, Guacamole, Red

Turtle & Canary is open!

Helen was at the Gig and finding it very weird that she hadn't had to sign up for any classes. The horses were just enjoying the weather.

It wasn't the three gremlins in sombreros that did it.

It wasn't even when they placed one on Nana's head and tried to get the dog to sing along while they strummed the world's tiniest guitars.

It was the bit where she was actually in tune.

Probably. Cally didn't actually know the tune to La Bamba, but it sounded like a tune, so...

So Cally would be over here with her head on the counter if you needed her.

[Open!]

Bobby had spent the morning 'helping' in the kitchen and jabbering at the cooks about how excited he was that he got to have a little sibling to show around but really wasn't it sad that his roommate was leaving, and he'd never thought he'd like his roommate, but now he was going to miss him and yay classes started next week! Wasn't it boring without classes? Bobby was especially excited about the astrophysics one he got to take.

It wasn't even 10am when the cooks sent him out into the front and had a conference of their own.

Shortly thereafter a chess set appeared on the counter, and Bobby received instructions to play 10 games against himself and report back which colors won. Until then he was to stay in the front.

Specials!
BLTs
Twice-baked Potatoes
Root beer floats
Chess Pie

Bobby might be engrossed in his chess games, but he'd be happy to help any who came in!

To say that Chrono didn't do themes would be a lie; he did a theme practically every week with his beer special, so perhaps it would be more appropriate to say that Chrono didn't do themes that he didn't like.

"These hats," he decided, "are ridiculous. I've been to Mexico; their hats aren't nearly this ridiculous."

There was a bit of an arch eyebrow from Tiny.

"And I swear I wore this poncho coincidentally. Like I ever pay attention to what day it is. I've had this thing forever."

Chrono sighed, realizing he wasn't going to convince Tiny of anything, but he wasn't about to take it off, either. That way, he'd definitely win.

The Devil's Nest is open!

Tino about had a heart attack when Chuck hobbled into the bar Thursday night. Chuck didn't offer any explanations, just politely asked Tino to pull a bar stool to the other side for him to sit on and then settled down with a Diet Coke. See? He was doing awesome at this nice thing so far.

Well, this was it. These were the last few moments Jonothon was going to spend on the island, doing last-minute checks to be certain that he'd tied up all his loose ends at the Groovy Tunes, carting around a woebegone feline in her carrier, with a knapsack with only his most personal belongings in it slung over one shoulder.

Most of his things, his magazines and all of his music with the exception of a select few albums, had been put into boxes labelled 'For George.' In his bag, it was the few articles of clothing that he hadn't already sent back to Massachusetts with Angelo and Jubes, wrapped carefully about the last odds and ends from his side of the room. His guitars had gone with them, as well. There was no way he was going to be able to haul those back there on his own through the Portalocity terminal madness. Especially if this went anything like his first time going to Massachusetts.

Which just left the few things he couldn't bear to part with, that he didn't trust in anybody's hands but his own. A slightly broken animatronic parrot, for example. A nautilus shell. A rather handsome leather jacket. A crown. Tokens. Mementos.

What he didn't need, sadly, were his keys to the Groovy Tunes. And if he was lingering a little longer than absolutely necessary when he'd stopped by to drop them off, just soaking in the feel of the place one last time... Well, who would blame him?

[This is going to be Jono's last post on the island, at least until I, you know, have another excuse to make a post on the island for him. Being Jono, he didn't really announce that he was leaving today, but if you have a reason to stop by the Groovy Tunes to catch him, feel free!]

Sov had found a box of unidentified broken stuff in the shop, mostly electronic components. To make use of them they were gluing them together to form a box. Yes, a box, to keep broken stuff in. It made sense.

Jaina was gone, and Jono's presence had disappeared from the island as well.

Ben hated this time of year, and the prospects of new students was just not enough to get him out of his funk.

At least tonight he'd be back home eating normal things like nerfburgers and tubers (yes, normal was relative) and possibly trying to avoid a really boring reception or two.

It'd be nice to visit Coruscant for the weekend.

He blamed the residual bad feeling he had on people leaving.

[OOC: Listen to your bad feeling, Ben! This is his last post for Fandom for the summer, though he doesn't know that. Up early as I am traveling to Ohio tomorrow and will be on massively epic SP this weekend.]
