William was more than a little nervous about today's impending workshop. The idea of surfing still made him terribly nervous.

So he was dealing with that anxiety by tinkering with the first of the parts that had arrived for his soon-to-be computer. Hopefully that would keep his mind off all the disasters bound to happen in surfing class until it was time for, well. The disasters to happen.

Alexander certainly had his work cut out for him today. Unfortunately, none of that work had anything to do with the shop.

It had everything to do with all the scouring of the Alexandria library he had done, inspired as he was by his Try Not To Die!!! workshop. Fandom High's library was certainly impressive, there was no doubt about that, but the same could be said exuberantly for Alexandria's, especially after the less than impressive records of the Vikings. Either way, Alexander had collected many notes, copied out countless maps, and now had them spread out on the counter of Things Reborn. He did not want to waste a single second, when every moment could be used in trying to find some hint of his missing Land of the Green Isles.

It was proving fruitless so far, but who know? Perhaps, just around the next corner of research, there would finally be his key.

Things Reborn is open!

Today, Alex was doing legal research, for the case she had mentioned to Jack (and that she needed to update Momoko and Roy about, should they be interested). And, of course, working on her class for this evening. And possibly worrying about some of her students who were in far-off places.

Cabot and Associates was open.

(OCD-free. Please note when you're stopping in? Alex is going to find out about Katniss's reaping this afternoon, so after that, she's going to be in a much worse mood.)

Alex had entirely too many things on her mind, today. The best answer was to dive heavily into Constitutional law and let that distract her. Law geek: do not try this at home.

Lion-o was fairly relaxed today, taking time out to help the kitchen staff making cupcakes. He was fairly certain that no Egyptians would show up wanting bacon, so there was no need to stand guard by the door.

Today's Specials

They were in ancient Egypt. Cable hadn't taken any chances: he'd gone off-island yesterday, not to play tourist, but to make absolutely sure this wasn't his universe's ancient Egypt. He had good reasons for it.

He just wasn't going into them.

He'd left Jan upstairs just in case before opening up the shop, HELP WANTED sign joining the little one that read Open. Sat down, stared out the window, not that he could see much of Alexandria from here.

[[ open! ]]

Lindsay was sitting behind the counter listening to old school Van Halen (though it wasn't that old to her), enjoying one of the cupcakes she made in class yesterday on her break. A normal one with chocolate icing. She decided for no reason that this was a good day to be stress free.

Groovy Tunes is open.

After spending most of his day at a funeral, Bod was in a quiet, thoughtful mood when he arrived to cover Nathan's shift (permanently, he assumed). Tino was even nice enough not to bother him and spent most of his night taping up zombies and cleaning up the bathrooms.

Bod poured himself a glass of water and sipped it slowly, feeling tired and sad all at once. He figured he'd either sleep really well or get no sleep at at tonight.

It seemed there just hadn't been enough insanity going on with the gremlins lately, so that was why there was a guy in red pajamas prancing around the park. Singing.

Well, really, it was all autotuned so that part was less important.

But aren't you all so, so glad you were there for the magic and wonder of this evening? Aren't you just thrilled?

"Yeah, Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah)
Oo-ooh-ooh, hoo yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah-ah-ah
Yeah-ah-ah
Yeah-ah-ah
Yeah-ah-ah
Yeah, yeah, yeah..."

That was a lot of yeahs.

Post Office, Wednesday

It was entirely too hot here, in this new place the island had moved to. And scuttlebutt said there were pyramids somewhere over on that new land. It wasn't that Rude disliked pyramids per se, it was just that he'd had a bad experience with one trying to crush him.

It didn't help that the post office staff all seemed to be busy today carrying miniature pyramids around the place. Not mailing them, just carrying them from one side of the lobby to the other, and then back.

One of them had even given Rude a pyramid to wear as a hat.

Ancient Egypt, Jessica figured, probably had as lax of drinking laws as the Viking's Iceland, so she could totally still tend bar, right?

That was her story and she was sticking to it until Eric exiled her to the door again.
