Jack opened the office early on his first day, tidied things a bit -- less because they needed it and more for the sheer pleasure of making a mark -- and then logged into the computer system to look for records on the judge they were investigating. He had the office windows open, letting in a bit of the day's heat, and any problems he might have on his mind were subsumed in his focus on the work.

Cabot & Associates was open for business.

The island had moved again. That meant that Fraser's uniforms were entirely too hot during the walk over from his apartment to MHA. By the time he and Dief had arrived, Fraser was thankful for the invention of central air conditioner. He settled his hat on the counter and got to work filing a few errant pieces of paperwork while he cooled down.

Dief took up a spot on the cold tile floor, stretching out and taking complete advantage of being inside a nice, cooled down lobby. Fraser gave him a look and shook his head in amusement before going back to filing.

Millie was here, still with a big HELP WANTED sign in the window.

In keeping with the new location and the change in the weather, Cally had

a) not brought the mountain of fur with her

b) worn a sleeveless blouse

c) put the sand-art on sale today.

Because exactly what anyone needed this week, especially any natives who wandered over to Fandom, was More Sand.

At least it had pretty colours?

[OOC: open and... somewhat drugged, yes. Headache from hell attack.]

Eric and Jack were back in front of the classroom again, and laptops had been placed on each person's desk. "Tonight we will work with a simulation that will let you experience the importance of making proper financial decisions without risking any real money," Eric said.

Via being stranded on a weird planet full of slime. Eric thought he was amusing. "Please run through the simulation and then tell us how much money you managed to save up by July. Could you afford your return ticket home?"

Eric had been able to, easily. Jack...not so much. "What investments did you make? Did you choose to eat less food, commute? Skip vacations?" He waved his hand. "And yes, before anyone complains, the simulation doesn't make allowance for enhanced abilities to glamour people into doing what you want or the money you'd save if don't have to eat food."

He was thinking of writing an email.

...okay, not really.

George was bored. This was not all that surprising; George was usually bored, especially at work.

So she had bought some Popsicles, because it was fucking hot out, that was why, and she was eating some of those Popsicles -- again, with the hot -- and then she was going to make some kind of art-thing with the popsicle-sticks.

Or she might spell out 'Fuck Off, Apu' if he kept giving her looks like that. One of the two.

It was Thursday so Chuck was behind the bar, fueling his new found Diet Coke addiction. Booze was better by a long shot but he was still being a good person and listening to his doctors. Though he had to admit that caffeine withdrawal headaches might be worse than hangovers.

Chrono was happy to say he'd been spending a lot of time off the island lately; this was a time period he hadn't spent a whole lot of time on Earth, still being in hell and all that before Aion's big plan to destroy the universe. The cloaks that seemed in fashion did well to hide his wings and his ears, so that did well for going about outside, but he was glad to be able to shuck it and just settle in behind the bar when he came in for his shift at the Nest.

It wasn't a bad way to wrap up the night, especially since he was used to it being fairly quiet on Thursdays.
