Alex was in her office, and her door was wide open. Just in case any of her students needed her. She should have come in yesterday, she told herself somewhat sternly.
In the meantime, she was doing some research on the internet. Not about Casey's problems with a corrupt judge, but to a much simpler website: the
Food Bank in New York City.
They had an online form where you could donate, and even list the gift as a memorial for someone; Alex only wished that they hadn't called it a 'tribute.' Nevertheless, she wrote in the amount and typed in the name 'Katniss Everdeen' and hit send, feeling small and helpless. A check. Money flung toward a problem.
She couldn't go to New York to volunteer, but there would be soup kitchens in Baltimore.
The Law Offices of Cabot and Associates were open. Especially if you had legal troubles, and needed
pro bono help. Or if you wanted to talk about Katniss.
(OKAY SO. The law office is open. Alex websurfing is fine for broadcast; giving money in katniss's name isn't (not that squirrels could have jumped up and read her screen, I'm just being overcautious zomg). If anybody stops by to talk about Katniss's (supposed) death, then the visit is FB but the entirety of the conversation will be NFB -- all other visitors are fair game. We cool, squirrels? ♥)
