Hermione had a new job. An office job.

It was taking some getting used to.

She'd had an office when she taught, but that had somehow been different. Her job there hadn't been behind the desk. This made her feel more adult in a way she wasn't familiar with. Really, she'd thought that the job sounded interesting, and maybe it'd give her some ideas about how the law could be used to change things, because she was always one to see the bigger picture. Today, that all seemed a bit far off because she was still getting used to where everything was and what she was supposed to be doing. Hopefully no one minded her spending most of her time acclimating herself with the place.

It was business as usual at the front desk, where a guest was complaining that he shouldn't have to pay for his room because the bed had turned into a nest yesterday. He wasn't amused by Mary's offer of unlimited pickles and ice cream. "Guess he didn't get the joke," Mary said to Gunther after the guest stormed out the door.

Hook had a plan.

He'd heard of this 'Pirate Bay' thing in Sweden. He'd heard that a group called The Piracy Bureau had disbanded not long ago.

It was time for Hook to go become king of the pirates again. Even if he had to go to Sweden.

So, it was somewhat comical when Hook put up a little 'For Sale' sign in the corner of one of the front windows of the apartment building. Hey, he'd listed it online, too. But he liked the little sign.

He stood back to admire his handiwork, and smirked. Ahhh, it would be good to be a proper pirate again.

Boy, was he in for a bit of a surprise.

[ooc: Open post, Hook's last public post, buyer already pre-arranged, woohoo!]

After Ethics, Annie headed into town for her first ever day of work. She had no idea what she was doing, but that wasn't going to stop her from being the best darn... whatever it was she could be!

She was smiling and eager today when she arrived, and made sure to introduce herself to Gigi and the robot cooks, which still amazed her. She had no idea whether or not they actually cared who she was, but the point was that she was being friendly and professional, even if her coworkers were robots. Droids? Whatever, they were clearly robots.

Annie had no idea what that was, and she really hoped no one asked.

So ... George had a job. Not the same job as before. A different one. She was working for her roommate. The new roommate. Not the old one. Although they both had run the music shop, so maybe that was a fucking sign or whatever.

She put a sign up in the window.

Spock had deduced that the ownership of the business had changed again. Which was to say, he did not listen to the radio as a matter of course, but Rikku had been too fond of the previous sign to change it to something so streamlined. At any rate, he arrived promptly for work on Tuesday and began his usual tasks. As he had not yet met the new owner, he saw no reason to assume he did not have a job any longer, and every reason to proceed as normally.

Stark Industries is open.

Even if William didn't have a habit of listening to the radio, the change of ownership would've been apparent once arriving at the store and seeing the new sign.

Apart from the aforementioned signage, however, there did not seem to be any differences to the shop itself. So Will was just going to go about working on his latest project: something called a "baby monitor" that he'd seen advertised on the television. He didn't know if Rilla had discovered such a product herself, but even if she had... it was good practice. At least, that was what he was telling himself.

[ooc: open, but i will be on the road most of the day!]
