Zayne was having an interesting week. Hired a new employee, bought an apartment building, called Gryph and got yelled at for buying a building until he explained that it was actually a good investment. And today was looking to be interesting in its own way, since Gigi decided it was time to be a better hospitality droid and learn Earth languages.

Unfortunately, she was still a little... quirky, and decided that Esperanto was the best language to speak today. Zayne didn't even know what Esperanto was. He was going to have to try to reset her default language at the end of the day.

Today's Special:
Protato Salad

That was not a typo.

When Quinn got to the hotel, the housekeeping staff was arguing in a back office about what to do with a thoroughly-soiled set of sheets. Some of them favored bleach; some of them favored ammonia; one held out for fire.

As for Quinn, she just wanted to know why you'd bring that much caramel sauce and tomato soup into a hotel room to start with, and how the duct tape had come into it.

She hoped she'd never find out.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!
Today's Specials: Penne with Vodka Sauce
Garlic Bread

It was the beginning of a new school year! There were new students! And that meant... NEW CUSTOMERS!

He set up his Hank Co. sign and business cards on the counter, eager to sell his services to anyone who might ask. He cleaned and polished Jane the canary's cage, Turtle the turtle's shell, and all over Bob the Squishybot.

And then, the pièce de résistance: a sign in the window.

Rapunzel was skipping along with a huge grin on her face. She'd spent a good chunk of the morning brushing out her hair (she was finding it took a lot more effort to take care of it all here in Fandom; maybe because she kept dragging it through areas that were dirtier than she'd thought).

But! It had totally been worth it this morning because her roommate was taking her shopping! Which apparently would get her more clothes to wear! It sounded positively magical!

So in one fell swoop, Rapunzel was going to have more than one dress to wear and learn something new!

It was enough to make a girl skip along, and spin in gleeful circles every so often.

Though, to be fair, Rapunzel was prone to doing both of those things on a fairly regular basis anyway.

"So what do we do first?" she asked excitedly.

Reno and Rikku had headed off to Spira for their happily-ever-after, so Rude didn't really have an excuse to stay in Fandom any longer. Still, he'd have to face the wrath of Tseng when he went home, so another day or two wouldn't kill him.

At least there wasn't anything TOO bizarre at the post office today, unless you counted the myriad of postal workers. The strangest thing to happen was the friendly mustachioed man in the snappy blue suit who exclaimed "Speedy Delivery!" when he dropped off a package. It was oddly comforting, in a neighborly sort of way.

Lion-o thought it would be a good day to take a leisurely look around the walk-in cooler to sees what exotic ingredients he could find. He had a good time poking around, but he lost track of time. The kitchen staff had to send the bus boy to find him after Lion-o had been gone for a couple of hours.

"Sorry, guys," said Lion-o, emerging from the cooler with lots of jars. "I was hoping to make it all the way to the back, but I got distracted by the olives. I had no idea there so many different types."

Today's Specials
Moroccan Spiced Olives
Citrus-Marinated Olives
Heirloom Tomato Soup with Arbequina Olives and Shaved Fennel

It was the new semester and Nathan was ready for it. It sucked that he'd missed the picnic but he figured he'd meet anyone he wanted to meet over the next few weeks. He was a friendly guy and everyone should want to meet him, in his opinion. Nathan's ego was nice and healthy, if you hadn't picked that up.

Tonight, he'd broken into the booze early and had set up a line of shot glasses on the bar. He'd tried to challenge Tino to a drinking contest but Tino was having none of it. He'd retreated to the other end of the bar and was already mentally prepping himself to call the poison control center in case Nathan needed his stomach pumped.

Fuck it though, if Tino wasn't gonna drink with him, Nathan was gonna have himself a little party in Caritas. He'd gotten the band to kick up the music and was even dancing his way around the bar while he drank.

Since she didn't have any more classes before Friday (and didn't feel like spending all her time on the ones she was taking independently), Natalie was exploring the town today. So far, it seemed... cute. Interesting in a kind of a quaint small town way. Because it was small, for what she was used to.

It was no Montreal, and Natalie wondered how long it would be before she'd start feeling like it was too small for her.

But, that was for the future. Right now, she was still enjoying it, and just barely starting to discover the places she might like. She stopped by the bakery, then came back out again to seat herself by one of the tables out front, with her coffee and a few cupcakes. Seemed like a good place to quietly peoplewatch.

[ooc: Open like an open place in town tends to be.]

Jessica had gone shopping on the mainland the night before, and she'd scored some Vamp nail polish from Chanel (and the matching lipstick, of course). It was a moral imperative she buy it, but she'd hadn't had time to do her nails before getting home. So now as she sat by the door to the club, she carefully painted her nails. So sorry about the fumes.
