For the first part of the day, nothing had seemed terribly out of the ordinary: William had arrived at the shop, opened the doors and gotten everything ready. The first indication that anything was amiss came when he was working on soldering a connection on a circuit board. There was a spark, a puff of smoke... and then the circuitboard disappeared.

"What on earth?" William muttered, staring at the spot on the worktable where the circuitboard he'd been working on had been.

[ooc: yay literal interpretation of smoking! open, though slow as I've got school/moving today.]

Strange things were afoot at the hotel today. For one, the smoking floor had rather suddenly become a no-smoking floor -- which would have been fine, except that guests in the middle of a nic fit kept coming into the lobby to complain it wasn't what they booked.

For another, the maids were getting into slap fights over who stole whose cigarettes.

For a third, there was a strange clumsy bird waddling around squawking at Gunther.

Quinn was going to be the calm center of the chaos as she worked to plan a campaign event.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!

Birthday Cake
Thank you for not smoking

Sam's ghosts were leaving him alone (literally) which meant he had a semi clear head and was in a semi decent mood when he and his skateboard hit the boardwalk. He hadn't done this in too long (the lack of road rash on his elbows could attest to that) and it felt good to have the wind in his hair and the sun on his face.

For some reason, he felt like he had to be active today. After his duplicates had been lazier than even he'd been at his the height of slackerdom, Sam felt like getting out and doing something would save him from that fate.

Hopefully it would save him from that fate, that is. After all, the M&M's that the teachers had given him had been really good and naps were really fun. But, he didn't want to think of himself getting like that. He wove his way down the boardwalk, getting lost in his own head and his own thoughts of things past and things future.

But, he wasn't too unfocused to trip over cracks or pebbles or run into rails or even off the boardwalk completely and into the sand. Anyone wanting a laugh wasn't going to find it in Sam today.

Just don't toss anything in front of his wheels. Then, he'd probably faceplant and that would hurt. And it'd be mean. Don't be mean.

[Open place in town means open post, of course.]

This morning was not going well. Hank had started by politely asking the cheese panda to stop getting fur all over the shelves, but that immediately went south because the panda denied it had ever done any such thing, or even set foot in some of those aisles, and so there was nothing to do about it except yell and scream until his voice gave out.

It wasn't until he stopped to catch his breath that Apu was able to interrupt and explain about the Saint Bernard that came in on Sundays. Hank tried to apologize, but the panda refused to listen.

And to add insult to injury, Bob sprayed Squishy all over Hank when he was trying to clean out her drip tray. It was pretty obvious whose side SHE was on.

Today's Squishy flavors: Cheese, Wet Dog, Red.

It was Wednesday night which meant Nathan was back behind the bar, slinging drinks and making Tino's life hell. Tonight, Nathan had even added an ice cream cone to the mix because he'd been hungry on the way in and the ice cream looked too damn good to resist.

He'd brought two and he'd started to offer one to Tino. Surprised, Tino had started to smile before Nathan had dropped the opened ice cream cone onto the floor at Tino's feet. He'd laughed as he'd walked away.

That had been an excellent waste of money.
