There were disturbances to the natural order of things. This disturbance was more commonly referred to as 'life' by some.
Others, such as the hazy figures in grey that had appeared in the wake of one Susan Sto Helit's little adventure with her adopted grandfather, would prefer that these disturbances would stop mucking about in their nice, orderly universe.
"What is it," asked one, indistinguishable from its compatriots.
"More of a mess," another said in the same distant tone as the first.
They stayed still, observing this new window out of the universe they knew so well. It was a thoughtful, deliberative pause that had the feeling worlds hung in the balance. Which was true, but they were not prone to such flights of fancy. That only came from the messiness of life, something that was abhorred down to it's very core.
"It would be for the best that we tidy up," another decided, all of them nodding slowly in agreement.
"Yes."
And it was as simple as that.
