William arrived at the shop, absently picked the cherry tomatoes filling the cash register out and placed them aside.

Dear tomatoes randomly appearing in unpredictable places at Stark Industries today: William was not impressed with you. Please, take note for future reference.

Quinn woke up happy and got to work happy, to the point of almost floating through her day at the hotel. She was pretty sure the island would find a way to wreck things sooner or later, but right now she was going to enjoy the feeling that the future was hers. Every so often, she'd check her acceptance letter in her purse, as if it might stop saying what it said.

She was on and off the phone with her mother for a lot of the morning. Judy Fabray was alternating between utter pride and some bizarre fear Quinn would freeze to death in New Haven.

Britta was not happy.

She thought of not showing up. She thought of just refusing to participate in this slave labor that she as being reduced to, but then she thought about how prison would suck and how if she and Elphaba refused to work at the store to help pay for the items they had stolen yesterday, then Samus would retract the incredibly generous donation he had handwavily made when he found out why they were stealing, and then Britta would just feel like a real jerk.

"He's probably just doing it as a tax write-off, anyway," Britta murmured in complaint to the turtle sitting with her by the register. And then she looked at the turtle thoughtfully for a moment, it's little head peaking out curiously as it's legs propelled it slowly across the counter.

About ten minutes later, the turtle was wearing a wee little hat.

"Heee."

Britta was feeling a little bit better now.

Lion-o was pretty subdued today as he wiped down the counter. The odd changes from the last weekend hadn't affected him this time, but what would happen once he left Fandom? How would he handle it if he woke up as a girl while staying with the rest of the Thundercats? Somehow, he doubted that he could get away with staying in his room at the Cat's Lair for two days without someone getting suspicious.

Zinzi was pretty sure it was supposed to be winter in this hemisphere, but it'd been pretty pleasant out since she'd gotten here. That worked out well, considering she hadn't actually landed a decent, inexpensive place to crash yet, and still spent most of her time out on the street, checking out the town.

She was parked, today, sitting outside the Perk with an Americano (it wasn't her favorite, but it seemed appropriate), a cigarette, and a copy of the Washington Post. She'd given up on any decent coverage of foreign affairs and was flipping through the Style section, smirking at the memories it dug up from her Former Life. As she'd started to suspect, there wasn't a single mention of aposymbiotism in the whole thing, and the only mention of zoos was referring to actual wildlife parks.

She looked up at Sloth, who was very, very slowly making a tremendous mess out of the other sections of the paper.

"Looks like we get a fresh start after all, baby."

Shira was bustling around unpacking the latest shipment. It wasn't a big one, but there was enough to it that it was an actually productive day.

She liked productive days. They were so much more interesting than lazy days sometimes, even if they did tend to run her ragged.

Today, Nathan had bet Tino a month's pay that he couldn't go up on stage and sing Bette Milder's most famous song and get a standing ovation from the zombie band. Tino, being a dumbass, took the bet (because money was money) and was now up there belting the song out like a twat.

Too bad Nathan had bribed the band earlier to just boo Tino the fuck off the stage. Hey, no one said he played fair.
