Apparently, the horses were feeling more ornery than usual today. Which Firekeeper and Blind Seer found out when they tried to get them to go outside for a brief run.

Fine, Firekeeper scowled, dodging Duke's teeth as he aimed a nip at her shoulder. We will stay inside, then. But don't blame me if you get bored.

So if you needed service today, everyone would be inside the barn, some sulkier than others.

Tony was on his usual route through the town, vaguely wishing he was back in Rio again if only for the promise of a swim after he was done with his morning run.

Because who wouldn't want to go back to Rio right now anyway?

For now, he'd just think about it. And wait until the weather warmed up a bit more and spring finally hit. Mostly, however, he'd just continue on his run. It was actually kind of nice at this point.

It had been mercifully quiet in Fandom for some time, but that didn't mean Cable wasn't preparing for the worst.

The security system of the store was getting a complete refit, and the behind-the-counter weapons-in-case-of-emergency were being scrutinized and replaced where necessary. Not only that, but the shooting range was... getting a kid-friendly corner, for in a few years from now when they weaned Jan off the nerf and onto actual armaments.

So Cable? Flitting in and out of the back rooms all day, Tether following his every move.

Dolf was pulling double - or really, triple - duty at Turtle and Canary today. First and foremost, he was manning the store, which at the moment involved rather a lot of hazardous negotiating with the panda, who had decided to block off the entire cheese aisle in a fit of pique.

Secondly, he was pouring through books on teleportation and time-travel, looking for some kind of technology that might be able to get him back home. He hadn't found anything yet in the past two months, but he remained confident - mostly - that there had to be something.

Thirdly, he was keeping an avid eye on the World Cup speedskating in Heerenveen on his mobile. Look, this was important, okay? Ireen Wust and especially Sven Kramer were staging a comeback, and he absolutely needed to know how well they'd do.

Today's Squishy flavors: Ice, Mobile, Grape Judas.

Dave had been working on some stuff for tomorrow's paper, but he was interrupted by a catastrophic emergency. He ran out of his room and into town, not stopping until he reached the counter at the Perk. "I'll," he started before wheezing. "Have." A gasp. "Ohboy." He held up a finger to indicate 'Wait' while he caught his breath. "Okay. Out of coffee. Gimme. Please?"

Fortunately, the barista knew Dave by now and started getting an extra large cup the second he walked in, so the cup was in his hand right after he said 'Gimme.' And suddenly, he had everything he needed for when he went back to the dorms. "Oh, I guess I also need some packaged stuff for my room."

Some people might say he had a problem. Dave would just say that he had coffee. And it was great. He was also going to go ahead and have a seat after paying.

Jono was off to the side today, nursing a coffee, while Troy took lead again. "Hey, everyone!" He was maybe a little bit too bright and cheery. "Today we're going to work on the floor show, which is basically one long musical number, so I hope your voices are in shape -- and that you've been practicing.

"We're going to start off with the choreography," Troy continued, "working with the recording, and then we'll start introducing the actual singing. Pennsylvanians, I want you on stage for this, too; I haven't decided yet, but I may be using you for the floor show, too."

The power was on today, though every once in a while the lights would flicker. Apparently "gremlin traps" had been placed near the wires to try and stop what happened yesterday from happening again.

Right. Susan was going to stay by her post and let Tiny handle that sort of thing. If he got bitten, that was his problem.

The Devil's Nest was open!
