Starting at the Causeway and then through town, Tuesday evening
Tuesday, October 9th, 2012 06:19 pmIt had been two weeks since Allie had walked out through the gates of Eden and into the mob of rabids, katana slicing at an inhuman speed. Two weeks since she'd left behind Zeke and Caleb and the few humans she could almost call friends. Eden wasn't the place for a vampire, Allie knew that, yet it didn't stop her from sometimes wishing things could be different, that she and Zeke could have had more time together.
But Eden was lost to her and the only thing that mattered now was finding and rescuing Kanin. The last weird, psychic dream connection to her maker had been three nights earlier. Bound and helpless, the glowing tip of a poker rammed through her stomach, exploding out her back. The smell of blood and burned flesh misting in the air. Unfortunately it hadn't given her any clues as to where he could be. So she kept walking. It was the only thing she could do.
The light through the trees was the first thing the caught Allie's eye. Like the light from Eden's outpost it shone through the trees, beckoning Allie forward and across the narrow strip of land to the island.
She stopped as she stepped onto the island proper, shocked that despite the number of heartbeats she could hear, there were no guards, no barricades to stop the rabids from entering the island.
For one night, Kanin could wait. Allie needed to understand what was going on. Was this some other Eden?
[Yay! New character! Open post is open!]
