Mary was reading a trashy romance novel at the front desk. She could probably be persuaded to put it down long enough to hand out room keys, but she wasn't going to get anything else done today until she finished the book. Even Gunther seemed resigned to the fact.

The dance was tonight, and between that and what had happened to Olive last night, Toby wasn't exactly focused on his work.

Hence the special, which was just the first food-related word that had popped into his mind today.

For most people, Alec thought that working the Friday shift might pose a problem because there were so frequently dances and events in town on Friday nights. For Alec, on the other hand, it was actually really nice, because it gave him eight hours to contemplate whether or not he wanted to go to that thing and whether he even had proper clothes for it.

He ultimately concluded yes, he did, to the first question, and while the second question was a little bit more up in the air, if he went ahead and stuck to the corners, it probably wouldn't matter. Look at him solving problems!

Oh, right, and he was inventorying some guns, too. Yes.

Allie was at the Devil's Nest ready to work exactly twenty minutes after the sun went down.

Fortunately for her first night, the DJ was doing a mix of classic rock. As far as introductions to music went, The Rolling Stones and The Who weren't a bad place to start.

She found a spot to sit where she could see both the door and the bar and waited to see what the night would bring.

[Up early for vampire boss. But I'm AFK till sometime after six.]

Karla and Warren had left the dance early, but still managed to be the first ones at the restaurant--no thanks to Warren, to be certain. She let them in with her key, showed him her office where she worked keeping Priestly's books (including a stack of receipts she was sure he'd be proud of) and then let them into the dining area proper, flicking on lights as they went.

"Priestly's promised to cook for us," she informed Warren, pushing a few of the tables together. "Has he cooked for you yet? He's amazing! They should be here any moment! And then he can show you his freezer!"

It was more impressive than it sounded, Warren. Really.

[Posted for a merry group of people, but open!]

Glitter seemed to be a theme of the evening. There was glitter on the posters covering the walls, glitter on the plants printed on table cloths. Glitter on the fake full moon hanging in place of a mirror ball.

And of course, glitter on the banner hanging above the entrance.

Welcome to Homecoming 2012

Become a (wo)man.

Become a wolf.
