Today was the day. Well, Tuesday was supposed to have been the day since she turned 18 that day, but the mun had a brain sprain Mercy had decided that maybe getting a tattoo a day and a half before she went home for Thanksgiving dinner might not be the smartest move. Her mother saw everything. And given that she managed to wiggle out of most family get-togethers, her mother wasn't letting her miss one that also would cover her birthday.

Not that she'd told anyone here it had been her birthday - in fact she was taking Cade's advice and wearing a nice tight shirt in the hopes that she wouldn't be asked to show ID. If she did, well, she could explain about it having been her birthday then.

She was nervous, but mostly glad that both Cade and Yeul had said they'd come along with her.

[For the two joining Mercy, but open should anyone have a desire for a tattoo or piercing today!]

Book Haven was open - technically - but anyone coming in would find Millie packing up bits and pieces of the store that she wanted to bring home with her. Her apartment upstairs had been packed up and sent back to Chrestomanci Castle this morning, but there were still things she wanted from the shop.

She was sad to be leaving Fandom after all these years, but Christopher was taking over as the Chrestomanci and he needed her - and she wanted to be with him.

Proudfoot was curled up on the window seat enjoying the sun as Millie spent one last day here at the store.

[And this will be Millie's last post. I hate to send her home, but it's time. Please feel free to stop in and say goodbye.]

Tiny was nursing a black eye and yawning. When Allie asked, he told her he'd been involved in a melee over discounted 700 count sheets during a Black Friday sale at a Wal-mart on the mainland.

Then Tiny explained the concept of Black Friday.

Allie shook her head repeatedly. This place was weird.

It was possible, Alec guessed, that many of the mundie retail workers in the universe weren't looking forward to a very peaceful day today.

The nice (if a bit ironic) thing about Fandom, though, was that for all that the island was decidedly not normal, most of the people, mundies though they were, seemed to be sane in a way that didn't involve mad rushes to buy things. Especially weapons. Alec was pretty sure weapons stores were exempt from the whole competitive-shopping thing. The idea of mundanes scrambling to injure one another in a store with actual guns was more than a little disturbing.

Plus, Wellspring was pretty quiet even on normal days, so Alec really didn't see his peace being interrupted anytime soon. He took care of some inventory, then sat back behind the desk with a book.

Truth be told, Mike had kind of enjoyed his Thanksgiving alone more than he may have anticipated to. He hadn't had a large fancy meal or anything, and he'd spent most of his time going around the house fixing small things that needed fixing, but still. It had been nice to have some space to himself for the first time since moving here. He hadn't ever thought of himself as someone who needed quiet time with himself, but apparently that happened sometimes.

It was still nice to be out of the house this evening. Even Tino seemed to not mind him that much this week, although apparently he was suffering through the after effects of eating too much yesterday and an unsuccessful Black Friday shopping trip today.

Mike still didn't manage to coax any war stories out of him.
