The Perk [Friday afternoon]
Friday, January 4th, 2013 01:46 pmJane wasn't usually very impulsive. Usually, she thought through things and made the most responsible decision. And granted, what she had done in this case was a lot more responsible than what she'd wanted to do -- cry into Lizzie's pillow some more and then pack up her things to move to LA and demand an explanation of Bing -- but still. Jane Bennet didn't usually just take jobs in random cities where she'd only spent a week. And Jane Bennet gave lovely exit interviews and baked a cake for the office before she quit a job, rather than simply calling her current employer and giving them the Jane Bennet version of 'I found something better, shove it.'
But in spite of how not-herself she was acting today, Jane was...pretty pleased with herself. The store had looked like it had had a really good inventory to start with, and she could modify orders and maybe even showcase some of her own designs. The name might have to go -- 'Demon Marcus' was cute but...um, not very her.
Now, though, she was curled up at a table with her paperwork and a cup of tea, going over everything meticulously. She'd sent Lizzie a text to tell her she had news (since...well, hopefully Jono would be okay with her staying a little longer, since she wasn't sure she'd find an apartment right away) and was doing her very utmost not to look at her phone anymore. (The Twitter feed she'd been scrutinizing hadn't updated with anything useful, anyway. It never did.)
[totes open whoo!]
